The media's job is vapid entertainment.

The days when it was capable of serving as competent news media have long gone. Today's "reporters" have the skills of any attractive, well-spoken cashier.

That's not evil. Just grossly incompetent.

Very true

Jones does real journalism.

Jones does sensationalism mixed with fiction.

Quite the opposite of journalism, he's not reporting facts, but looking for things he can spin to fit his conspiracy vision.
It is the latest thing, very lucrative - back when before it was a flash site, there were a lot more links to outside material, with little or no editorializing.

It seems to be contiguous in many ways to the John Birch Society (Rense covers similar ground, with the addition of a strong anti-Zionist strain, but you might like this one Hunky) and he used to have a lot of stories about Lyndon La Rouche.

I agree with you Julia, that it's a shame these guys have to go over the edge, they really do track a lot of important stories, the ongoing war against whistleblowers for example (see Cele Castillo and Powderburns for example).

Speaking of whistleblowers, I am a bigger fan of Catherine Austin Fitts at Solari, she has real credibility and she offers practical suggestions - but the first guy I ran across on the web was Steve Kangas and Liberalism Resurgent, which I happened to find at the time I was reading a lot of Kevin Phillips, who was writing about many of the same things.

There is some pret-ty funky shit going down in Denmark, no question, and it's worth wading through the bullshit to get to the stuff that really bears watching.

When I was 30ish I was reading a story on the net about MLK being a communist and a subverter of freedom. I got really angry about it, and I fired off a nasty-gram to the guy who wrote it. The letter he wrote me back slayed me. He basically said I should check his sources, his line of thinking, but instead I had an emotional and hatefilled reaction.

I learned something very valuable that day, I learned that he was right, either his spew lived up or it didn't. I then questioned why I reacted that way to it, and the answer was that I think so much of MLK's legacy that I felt this guy was besmirching his character... and he WAS doing that, but my response would have been much more forceful if I questioned his sources instead of jumping his shit.

I no longer just jump people's shit for saying something I do not like. If my worldview is worthwhile, people can question it. I have no sacred cows. People who do post like you, Hunky, and that is not a compliment. It means that you will support a position right or wrong, just having blind faith in it. No human being deserves blind faith, certainly not Alex Jones.

So.... I am bored this morning, most of my packing done..

I am going to go through stories off of Prison Planet and analyze them and show how they:

1. Spin
or
2. Fabricate

quote:

Here is the first one I read. If you were to read it in a vacuum it would be hard to understand why Prison Planet even bothered with this clip, but the reason they put this on their site is to show that the media works with the Obamas, like they "control" them...

In an interview with CNN, First Lady Michelle Obama thanks the media for their “support” and “kindness.”
CNN reporter: “How’s the family ready for this [the election]? It’s going to be quite vicious, isn’t it? How do you prepare for that?”
First Lady Michelle Obama: “You know, it’s … we’re ready, you know. Our children, you know, could care less about what we’re doing. We work hard to do that. Fortunately, we have help from the media. I have to say this: I’m very grateful for the support and kindness that we’ve gotten. People have respected their privacy and in that way, I think, you know, no matter what people may feel about my husband’s policies or what have you, they care about children and that’s been good to see.”

She is thanking the media for not focusing on her children and leaving them alone... what an evil bitch, huh? She is just a NWO lackey, or even worse, she is queen of the NWO[8|]

yes they are always "doming something" arent they.

unfortunately spin is spin regardless of that glorious something they are doing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacred_cow_(idiom)

Sacred cow (idiom)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sacred cow is an idiom, a figurative reference to sacred cows in some religions. This idiom is thought to originate in American English,[1] although similar or even identical idioms occur in many other languages.
The idiom is based on the popular understanding of the elevated place of cows in Hinduism, no matter how inconvenient, and appears to have emerged in America in the late 19th century.[1] A literal sacred cow or sacred bull is an actual cow or bull that is treated with sincere reverence. A figurative sacred cow is something else that is considered immune from question or criticism, especially unreasonably so.[2][3

Ahh- but the devil is in the details.  You are so worried about the details you miss the big picture.

I now have a sacred cow.   He is as happy as a pig in shit.   I have a whole farm of sacred cows.

Alexes show is fast growing-  when the main media lies people look for the truth and Alex is closer to the truth then the main media is.

juliaoceania -> RE: Alex Jones Creates Hysteria Amongst His Readers/Listeners (6/25/2011 11:32:11 AM)

It is considered a pejorative thing to have sacred cows, it is in essence saying that you have complete faith in those people, and that you follow them not based upon any sort of rational logic, but irrational devotion

I am glad you can admit it.

"...Alex is closer to the truth then the main media is.  "

Quite possibly true, but that ain't saying much.
