Why the fuck would you even mention such a thing??? Oh wait!! Because that way you could deflect the entire message that Angelika was trying to give you. Your rudeness was completely uncalled for!!

Do not be hating the llamas.  They are loyal and good.  I love llamas.  I do.  There was one that used to eat the grass in the median in the road outside my home in Peru.  I loved that dude!  Every morning I said hi to him.

Don't be hating the llamas!!!

I don't hate them...some of the employers in my field (like the one where I turned down their job offer) have them on their grounds to work with them with the children....was only trying to give an exxxxxxxplanation

one school in peru (in arequipo, I think was the name of that area) had 2 llamas in the middle of their sportsground...which made me wonder if that helped their students to run faster their rounds....

Lisa, I've just adopted a wait and see attitude. I agree with the need for family therapy. On the other hand finishing school makes sense at this point - provided that she really is looking for part-time work.

There are too many major stressors in Tammy's life right now to think she will do well coping with all of them:

chronic depression
chronic pain
kids out of control
school
romantic breakup
change of  residence
financial stress

About the only stressful thing she is not dealing with is caring for an aging parent. *Anyone* (even I) would have issues dealing with all of the above at once. Given her emotional lack of wherewithall, I don't think it is going to happen.

A few people (I know Holly was one of them) suggested she concentrate on her chronic pain, depression, and getting the kids back into control. If Art cannot allow her to live there until she gets her act together (and we don't know the whole story, this may be so much less than ideal) than she should look for help elsewhere so she can move out and concentrate on the very basics.

Normally I would never suggest quitting school, but she has been in school a long time no with no visible change in her occupational success, and it is one stressor she can  kick to the curb, for now.

I hope Tammy can get to the place where she realizes she is going to need help (counseling) with all this. If I thought she had accepted that, I would have more hope for her and her children in the future.

There is no shame in needing counseling, I've been and am a much better person for it.. To me, the shame is in needing counseling badly and refusing to admit it.

Thing is... none of us knows WTF is REALLY HAPPENING.

Of course I want Tammy and her kids to make a soft landing and PROCEED to have productive, happy lives. It won't be an easy thing, what with those blinders and all, but it IS possible. We will hear some version or other of the story, I'm sure.

And re LLAMAS!! I loves the llamas!! One of my fave childhood toys was a stufftie llama, which I still have. He's about hand-sized, with velveteen face and lower legs, and little felt ears. Bright eyeliner, from the sharp pointed highlighter I had then. His name was Llama. (I also had a turtle called Turtle at one time...based on the philosophy that wild animals didn't have names that we could give them.)

Good times!

Look, when I left CM a while back, my life was a mess that would rival Tammy's. Looking at it all at once it would seem like there was no way to get it under control. But bit by bit I've been doing just that. My life is not perfect but it's getting there. That's why I give her the benefit of the doubt. It can happen and it seems to me that she has started doing just that. It'll take time, patience, and encouragement but I think she can do it.

I'm not a Pollyanna, Monkey, I'm a realist. Look at everything all at once it seems insurmountable. Deal with it bit by bit and the mountain gets smaller, more manageable.

except that she repeatedly gives excuses why she is unable to do so...

follow the excellent advice she has been given (and repeatedly ignored in favor of WHY she cant..)

or continue in the drama filled life which she has apparently decided suits her better... ]

By all of her posts, it seems she'd rather try to tackle the mountain range, crippled,  than to take the steps she needs to in order to reach the summit..

(on my way to bed, so that probably didnt parse as I meant it to)

I disagree. She will be finishing school soon and will be looking for work in that field when she does. Meantime she has agreed to keep looking for part-time work to supplement her Disability. She is working with a doctor to get her pain under control. Those are very real changes. Not everything is going to happen at once. See what you want to Monkey but things are changing. You can keep looking at her the way she was that's your prerogative but I do see changes.

Let me see if I got this straight.

  • I tricked this helpless family into living in my house so I could pretend I was something I'm not.
  • I made their lives miserable with my endless pet peeves like insisting the kitchen be kept clean.
  • I took their money, more than all of it and I then took the children's lunch money.
  • They choose to leave in two weeks on their own because...well it's plain for all to see, is it not...It's because I am such a worthless man and poor excuse of a Dom and naturally no one would call me a master.
  • My house has bugs. I read that here so it must be true.
  • I should give them some money and support as they wave bye bye or I'm not a decent man and Dom
  • I forced them to leave on short notice in two weeks without anything, oh wait, they chose to leave, oh wait, I ...I'm so confused.

Let me be plain. None of you know under what circumstance tam came here and will soon leave. None can know the total depth and intensity of our relationship and the challenges we faced together while living the very good and not so good times during the last three years dating ending in the last year here together at our home. None of you know exactly why tam is leaving.

For those of you who offered well intentioned advice and stayed away from meaningless drama, conjecture and self serving platitudes, let me thank you.

I wish you all well.
Arturas

On the other hand, continuously bombarding her with "you're never going to change you haven't in the past" isn't going to help her change, is it?
