I hadn't realised the confrontational element in US politics had gotten to this pass. Bringing a concealed loaded weapon into a legislature either says something about the legislature or something about the person who does it. Which is it? My reaction is that neither option suggests a person/people I'd like to have making the laws that govern my life.

I had someone do that to Me once. After the gun was pointed in a safe direction, the words and volume that came out of me would have made any Drill Instructor proud except I had a lot more profanity and personal threats involved. "Anyone that would point ANY gun at ANYTHING they do not intend to SHOOT whether it's a can, paper, game animal or human, doesn't need to own or even touch a gun. Never say it's not loaded. Assume they are ALWAYS loaded" Thus quoteth My first gun safety lesson that I recieved from the old man at approximately age 5.

I adore my mother-in-law and her husband but they are of the mindset that they feel they need to own a hand gun to be safe. This is a relatively new development. I am convinced that, after a few or more tragic accidents due to the above moron descriptions, the gun laws pendulum will swing more the other direction. And all the people that will be screaming bloody murder about it........too bad.
