I think it's actually more entertaining if you have a really sweet, angelic voice asking for really not-so-sweet things.

Personally, Bublé's voice is so very appealing to me. [:)] (Although I'm not submissive.)

**clears throat, and in a sweet voice says "Hello TwoShoes"**

I don't think one needs a certain voice to be a dom (Duh-like so much of life, it's less what one says than how one says it) but daaaayyyuuuum, I wouldn't mind having a deep Venus Flytrap voice...with an accent, yeah, like a hot Welsh accent.

Snikeys, I would be just lethal then.

LaTigresse -> RE: The Voice of a Dom (7/14/2011 7:17:37 AM)

I was told yesterday..........by an elderly female customer........that my voice was quite sultry.

I was rather unsure how to respond.

mynxkat -> RE: The Voice of a Dom (7/14/2011 8:45:01 AM)

The timbre of your voice doesn't have a damn thing to do with how dominant you are (or aren't). Doesn't even have much bearing on being sexy. I know a guy who has a voice that I thought was sexy as all get out the first couple of months I heard him talking, he's got that deep voiced Texas drawl thing going on. Then I got to know the guy, and now his voice isn't all that sexy anymore. Actually a lot of the time it's downright annoying. Master's voice isn't particularly deep, or really have any outstanding characteristics, but he can turn me into a quivering puddle with a few words. The point there is that the person behind the voice is going to have a lot more impact on how you come across than your actual voice.

I wonder how do I close a thread.. [8|]

GreedyTop -> RE: The Voice of a Dom (7/14/2011 10:20:40 AM)

you don't, G.. only the Mods do.

Well then, that is unfortunate. I all ready have enough answers to my inquiry, I rather not have people waste time posting here.

windchymes -> RE: The Voice of a Dom (7/14/2011 11:07:29 AM)

Sorry, Giermo, but once you start a thread, it becomes public domain here in the forum. Just because you got the information YOU needed doesn't mean everyone else is finished discussing the topic amongst themselves. In fact, by making that comment, you just kinda gave us a glimpse of what you are really like, regardless of what your actual voice sounds like.....

Giermo -> RE: The Voice of a Dom (7/14/2011 11:34:51 AM)

If I have offended, I apologize. I did not make that post with the intention of creating an image of myself that demonstrates someone of lesser character. But, if I cannot apologize, then may I ask what "I am really like" then?

No need to apologize. If I had to hazard a guess on what you are "really" like, I'd say someone who is willing to learn, doesn't think they know it all, asks questions, gathers the answers then makes their own decision.

As far as not closing threads, there may be a lot of other folks who have your same question but don't post it to the boards for whatever reason, so threads are kept open to answer questions for all those who won't ask and not just what one poster may already have answered to their own satisfaction.

You should also feel free to leave threads in which you have already gotten answers to your questions. You don't have to babysit them once you are satisfied with your results.

Oh, and welcome to the forums. Personally, I hope you stick around, ask more questions and maybe share some insights and have some fun here.

First post, thought I start off with a problem I face when being a dominant.

I believe I lack a deep commanding voice. My voice is not high pitched but I feel that a proper voice is needed for making commands. In none of my previous BDSM relationship as this been brought up but it is something that concerns me from time to time.

Thoughts?

FR..
I'm too lazy to read through the other replies so if I'm boring that's why....

It isn't his voice, despite the fact that he's as gravelly as a chalk-pit.....*Does he mean what he says and does he hold the gravitas in *us*to do so?*....... That's pretty much all that matters.

Yes, that's really all it takes.

(ok, I'm not really into Joe Pasquale voices, but if M had a squeak of a voice, he'd still be a force to be reckoned with)

thishereboi -> RE: The Voice of a Dom (7/14/2011 2:38:40 PM)

Unless the submissive in question is hung up on a deep voice, it shouldn't be a problem. I have met male and female doms with soft high voices and they had not problems getting others to listen to them. Just be yourself.

Where the fuck do people get these stupid assed ideas that they need to have a 'certain' voice or some other stupid assed shit to be THEMSELVES.

Inquiring minds want to know

Middle school when most of the other boys voices had broken but he was one of the late ones. Stuff you got teased about in the early teen years cause problems for life, or damn near.
I think it's in one of the Anita Blake novels where it says that hell must be being 14 forever and school never letting out.

Buzzzz -> RE: The Voice of a Dom (7/14/2011 5:39:46 PM)

I got an accent and it kinda works.. Don't know if it is a "domly" one though.

HardtotheKore -> RE: The Voice of a Dom (7/28/2011 4:44:56 PM)

I'll let My mind and the rest of the body parts do the talking.
Now that "baritone" thing. There may be an 800 number that you can call and get the "CD" to train that DEEP commanding voice that you somehow need to "get a reaction".
I prefer Pavarotti blasting when swinging the whip.
