Knees here. What is your Favorite Resturant, Food, and Recipe? My favorite food is Italian (pasta) my favorite Resturant is Olive Garden. Always, knees~ [:D]

Being the wishy-washy person that I am, it's always hard for me to name ONE favorite or THE favorite of anything, but.... Right now, Olive Garden and their salad, breadsticks and Zuppa Toscana soup are at the top of the list. Another current fave is waffle fries heavily dunked in Chick-fil-a sauce. Seafood is always up at the top, too. The Crab Imperial at the Fisherman's Inn in Maryland, near Kent Narrows and the Bay Bridge is to die for.

As for favorites, it can change depending on my mood, and I have favorite places for the different ethnicities of food that I like. Of course, that is always subject to change should I go somewhere new with someone and like them better.

About a year ago, our Milwaukee paper did a survey on peoples favorite Mexican restaurants. We have a fairly large south of the border population with many very good restaurants. There were actually some that said Taco Bell was their favorite place to eat Mexican food. No offense ment to the OP but ifyou think that Olive Garden is good it might be time to broaden your horizens a bit.

Favorite restaurant - home. Dish - Kash. Olive Garden is good, but my Italian shit is better. I have actually found two people who don't lke it believe it or not. But the Kash is King. I have posted a recipe for it. I could do it again, but really the dish is too rich, fattening and has more choleserol than any ten tons of fat. But it's GOOOOOOOOD. So once a year is enough. And for all time, pizza from The Villa. they were on W117th back in the 1970s and nothing has ever come close. No matter how hard I have tried I can't get it right. My handmade pizza gets quite the acclaim, but they have never had it from The Villa. Mazeo's had a house salad dressing that could not be beat. I only had it a couple of times. I have yet to identify one of the spices in it, and they went out of business about thirty years ago. They got busted for counterfeiting. How do I find these places ? But the food kicked ass. Note now, that my favorites are no longer available. All of these places are out of business now. I am not fond of how they do lobster now, and I have to school the chef in how to make a steak for my surf n turf. That's not a big problem but then that's an extra tip. But so what. I have thought about opening a restaurant, I know if I could get it done my way it could make it. That requires diversity. Diversity requires money, and lots of it. The setup of the place would not be so much a problem, but all the shit to buy and have the staff know how to prepare ? Serious bucks. And I will not do it without an edge. The edge would be choice. Roast beef or pizza ? Seafood or beans ? Or both, or all. To be prepared for that takes alot of money and then some, to procure what is needed. If I wanted a McDonald's I would've bought a franchise a long time ago when I was able, and the market was not so saturated. In major cities you almost never have to drive more than three miles to get a Big Mac, but to find a really good restaurant ? Good luck. T^T

Term is right. Good restaurants are getting harder to find. Wisconsin used to have hundreds of old style 'supper clubs' that were family run. Great steaks and anything else you might want on a menu. Not so much anymore.

A local restaurant called San Pedro. Awesome Mexican food, large portions, great atmosphere. I expect a drug cartel gunbattle to break out each time I'm there.

My favorite food depends on the day but I guess if I had to choose just one it would be the pepper shrimp at a local Chinese joint. When it's fresh and hot, there's nothing like it in the world. My favorite restaurant is in Bridgeport, WV and is an Italian place called Oliverio's. OMG, the lasagna, the caprese, the bruschetta, the cappucino....a meal with appetizers, dessert and coffee there takes hours just like in Italy and is delicious! I don't have a favorite recipe but I make delicious lasagna and a killer lemon pepper chicken.........luci

There was a Chinese restaurant east of Vancouver, BC that my ex and I would go to, its since changed hands so doubt it is nearly as good now. But.. that place would do the most amazing scallops I have ever had, they were huge and always melt in your mouth, never rubbery (like when I try to cook em [8\|] )… ..they would bake them with big chunks of peppers and onions and they would bring the sizzling piping hot scallops right to the table and then pour the sauce over top, the steam shooting up and mmmmm so fun to watch and anticipate eating those tender delicious morsels. Awwwww, heaven, and every single time perfectly done….. their schezwan shrimp was great too. sigh... [:)]

Ah, but I didn't say Olive Garden had the best Italian food, I just said that their salad, which I love love love, breadsticks and one of their soups is high on my list right now. I'd buy gallons of their salad dressing if it was available. Trust me, I lived at the Jersey shore for 11 years. I know where good Italian restaurants are, and I have several friends from "old" Italian families, and I've had some damn good Italian food :) Nothing like Thanksgiving dinner that starts with antipasto, lol. Actually, "Italian" and pasta aren't generally high on my list of "favorite" foods. When given my choice, I'll pick Chinese, Mexican, Thai or Middle Eastern Kabab.

We may not have every region of Mexico covered with a great restaurant yet but we're getting close. Just had a truly amazing meal at a very good Yucatecan place called Xni Pec out by Brookfield Zoo.
