and here is why you should have your pension revoked.

The rest of the story ...

Senior chief receives Silver Star to top 22-year career

Extracts:

Receiving the nation’s third-highest military honor marks the bittersweet end to a 22-year career marred by a hazing scandal that erupted long after he’d left his position as kennel master at the Navy’s base in Bahrain in 2006.

Toussaint was already in Afghanistan, serving with a Navy SEAL team, when the allegations and the Navy’s initial investigation came to light.

...

No one was charged in the investigation, but the sailor who took over the kennel after Toussaint’s departure – Petty Officer 1st Class Jennifer Valdivia – killed herself after learning she would be implicated in the probe.

After details about what allegedly transpired came to light – including sailors who said they were tied up and forced to eat dog treats and ordered to participate in training scenarios that included simulated sexual encounters – the Navy censured Toussaint and announced he would be retired at a lower pay grade.

Toussaint successfully fought that in a two-day retirement board hearing in Norfolk in early 2010. Some of his accusers testified about their alleged mistreatment at the hearing. Cross-examination revealed that some of the allegations were exaggerated.

...

The three-member board voted unanimously that Toussaint should retire as a senior chief, and an assistant Navy secretary eventually approved that decision.

I think he can keep his pension, Ron.

But, "we didn't see anything did we?"

"I know N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!!"

Boy, that's *quite* a bit different from what the Swedish Government would like everyone to think wouldn't you say Old Bean?

NO, old chamberpot, what you have there is nothing, there is a demonstration, and in the second one by at least one Palistinian, the fact that you surmise something is anti-semetic, especially given your lack of knowledge freely admitted about anything in general and Scandinavia in particular,  is about meaningless.

I see that there are people of (obviously not) Scandinavian extraction, but see no other actual identity.

So if we were to say that all people who retired from government service must have been as large a shirker as you freely have admitted out here, and I have shown you the posts, such that we should remand all pensions instead of just yours and people like you......  Then I think you can say with the same equinamity that Sweden is anti semetic.

Until then, what you are doing is pointing at a horse and saying, look at the car, it has four things on it.

I was not familiar with that particular protest, HOWEVER that does not change the fact that the TEAPARTY has flashed posters portraying Obama as a Nazi and Beck, Limbaugh and Fox news has made it an annoying habit of referring to liberals as Nazis and Obama as one as well....

Or do you deny it?

The truth of the matter, by historic fact, is that Nazi Fascism was then, and is now, a right wing movement.  Really makes them look like the idiots that they are.

As soon as I saw this part of your post, I learned more about you than I ever wanted to know.

Our society, which is still a Republic, is based on balancing the needs and desires of all Americans - male, female, white, black, asian, hispanic, religious, non-religious - not just white males.

our society is still a republic?  Not since 1938!  LOL

Yeh he showed you that he knows more about the true history of this country than you do.

oh and its about pushing that bleeding edge of control to just before the people pick up arms and march.   Why do you think you have no provacy and everything is monitored?

Why do they spy on everyone?  to protect us?  yeh well do I really need to bring up 911?  or the 93 bombing that the fucking fbi did themselves?  on record?

This use of the Nazi meme is a stock weapon in the left's political arsenal.

Come on Firm, it's a stock weapon in both sides fringes arsenal.

"Obama's got a health care logo that's right out of Adolf Hitler's playbook", Rush Limbaugh, August 6th 2009

"ask your liberal friends why they're Nazis" Glen Urquart, GOP candidate in Delaware.

"The secular-socialist machine represents as great a threat as Nazi Germany or the Societ Union once did" Newt Gringrich, in his book 'To Save America'

"The ACLU is to Christians what the American Nazi Party is to Jews" Jerry Falwell

"The scary comparisons of the indoctrination tactics of our youth today and those of the Hitler Regime of past." Kim Simac, Republican Wisconsin state Senate Candidate.

Those quotes didnt take me more than a couple of minutes to find. I know I could just as easily find quotes from Democrats along the same lines. The point is, both sides do it.

Yet, here we have just a slight, cautious suggestion that the political orientated Youth Training Camps by political parties may be disturbing, and have give "a little" reminder of the HJ ... and the lefties go ballistic?

....and somehow Beck conveniently fails to mention that the Tea Party also holds such events. If it's disturbing for one side to do it, its disturbing if the other does it too.

In truth, Nazism was a totalitarian system, not a whit of difference in the end than the Socialism/Communist system that is tagged to the left.

But, for some reason, being a "Socialist" or a "Communist" is almost chic (and I know why, just not gonna get into that right now).

Man you should really take a college history course, and a few political science classes,  you would learn, much to your surprise, that the ONLY reason the Nazis used socialist in their name is to appeal to the workers, since it is an historic fact, that as soon as the Nazis came to power, socialists were arrested and imprisoned, labor organizers were arrested, and communists were imprisoned and shot.  Typically not what a socialist group would do.

But of course, live in your own deluded world of revisionist history, as we have come to expect from you.

I will join you in that.

And I will include a picture of people here he insulted.

Click it to see the memorial service at one of the largest mosques in Norway.

[image]http://gfx.nrk.no/KZe3KliG6AgLdse51IBgXwMEb-OQj4pAK-eSYKS-R0RA.jpg[/image]

The event is a blow to people like Glenn Beck and Anders Breivik (the Oslo terrorist).

During the event- attended by among others the crown prince, the foreign minister, the mayor, the bishop and various Norwegians of multiple ethnical and religious backgrounds- an apology was issued for the initial assumption of Islamic origins for the attack, and the assaults which some perpetrated against the minorities of the city in the time up to the disclosure of the actual perpetrator. The ethnic and religious minorities make up 25% of the population of Oslo city.

I won't translate the whole thing, but Google Translate will.

A major theme in these last few days has been precisely that people like Anders Breivik, Glenn Beck and the like should not be allowed to drive us apart, that as a people, we must stand united across creeds and reject these attempts at causing violence and societal decay. Of course, Beck hasn't massacred kids yet, and we're more sensitive to such details than he appears to be.

As such, we can recognize that while practically indistinguishable in his politics, he is not the same as the terrorist.

It would be nice to see him learn to make such fine distinctions, though.

Health,
al-Aswad.

Yeah, now that I've been "forced" to have a look at what he's about, I don't hold out much hope that he'll improve, either.

Personally, I'm elated to see that our own political figures (both the politicians and the commentators and other "stock" parts of the overall picture) have committed to a joint policy of postponing all political posturing and campaign work until cooler heads prevail, despite the upcoming election. Normally, the electorial debates would have commenced sometime this week. Our right wing tables the questions related to immigration and multiculturalism, and the far right wing has taken a time-out to ponder.

That's its own kind of posturing, of course, but I'll take that over what I've seen from Beck, Fox, et al.

Health,
al-Aswad.

FR

....didn't really expect such a long thread. My threads usually die in half a page.

First off, according to Godwins Law, Beck automatically loses.......however let's table that for now.

The camp in Norway most definitely had a political context. It wasn't indoctrination classes from dawn till dusk, but even if the piece of paper with the days events on it had the logo of the party organising on it.....it was political.

However, this is nothing remarkable. As has been pointed out, the Tea Party have similar events, as do churches, even the Boy Scouts can be seen as a somewhat political entity.

One could make a reasoned case against all such activities, i wouldn't agree, but such a case could be made. However that wasn't the point of the thread. The point is that Glenn Beck made a comparison between this camp and the Nazis. Don't split hairs. Even if you can pick apart the sentence and argue that, semantically, no comparison was made, you'd be disingenuous.

Beck juxtaposed the camp where kids were shot, killed and terrorised by a right wing extremist with Nazi youth camps.

Seriously guys.......how difficult is it to condemn such an appalling comparison?

Philo, here's my problem.

This use of the Nazi meme is a stock weapon in the left's political arsenal.  Rarely do I see anyone on the left condemn this usage or technique (yes, I believe you have, and perhaps one other poster that I am aware of).

Yet, here we have just a slight, cautious suggestion that the political orientated Youth Training Camps by political parties may be disturbing, and have give "a little" reminder of the HJ ... and the lefties go ballistic?

Firm, people do toss around the Nazi" crap way too much. At Bush at Cheney and on down the line. These were kids butchered on a Summers day as they attended camp.
