No. My nose isn't anywhere near that pile of shit, the pile of shit is on the other side of the country from me. And all i want to convince me that it IS a pile of shit, is for more than one person who was there and actually smelled it, to say so.

That still does not wash 200 years of slavery or that the KKK was a big part of the Democratis party or that the Dems were the party of slavery

Well, you can read the story for yourself.  Gee.....if they react like this to a black high school student doing well, I wonder what they really think of the guy in the WHITE House

Arkansas High School Appoints Co-Valedictorian Because Top Student Was African American | A high school student in Arkansas was blocked from receiving sole valedictorian honors this summer, despite earning the highest G.P.A. in her class and receiving only a single B in her four years at McGehee Secondary School. Kymberly Wimberly’s offense? She’s black. School administrators worried that Wimberly’s accomplishment would result in a “big mess” at the majority-white school, so Principal Darrell Thompson told the student’s mother “that he decided to name a white student as co-valedictorian,” even though the white student had a lower G.P.A. The matter is currently pending in federal court.

Wow...that kind of ignorance and stupidity, in this day and age, is absolutely uncalled for.

housesub4you -> RE: Racism alive and doing well in the south (7/29/2011 1:34:30 PM)

But of the two parties today....which one is considered more racist????

Some have learned from their mistakes, others try to keep the hatred alive.  A simple internet search of some of the bills the GOP are attempting to pass or have passed shows less belief in the statement "all men are created equal" and more of wanting to keep others from achieving equality in this country.

Hell, just look at some of the bills directed at restricting rights for women, gays..it's not that the GOP hates blacks, they hate everyone who is not like them or does not believe like they do, or how they (GOP) think they should .

Try to keep up. The above claim doesnt take into account long standing policy at the school that takes into account the total number of credits as well as GPA, and the difference in GPA was fractions of a point. The other student could have been named SOLE valedictorian. KW got a break.

Ignorance and stupidity...yes...yours.

Try to keep up, get some sort of clue.

Apparently, all that experience did was to make your nose further inured to to the pile that exists in Washington state (where the tea party originated and the latest racially motivated Seattle terrorist bombing occurred), or that the strongholds of racial supremacy  reside in Washington, Montana, Indiana, Illinois, and especially California.

Massachusetts is quite the standard setter there also.

Glad that your sensory perception is less than what it used to be, if you find that to be of greater use to you, but no need to brag about it.

Well white lady,it washes with most all African Americans......

Care to explain that?

The voting rights act of 64 separated the men from the boys and the boys then joined the republican party.

"The most fervent opposition to the bill came from Senator Strom Thurmond (D-SC):

"This so-called Civil Rights Proposals, which the President has sent to Capitol Hill for enactment into law, are unconstitutional, unnecessary, unwise and extend beyond the realm of reason. This is the worst civil-rights package ever presented to the Congress and is reminiscent of the Reconstruction proposals and actions of the radical Republican Congress."

No, junior, that is just what they CLAIM. What evidence have you seen that their claim is factual and not just a money grab? I know a lovely bridge you appear ready to buy,

Meanwhile the policy on standards will have to be produced by the school, and I seriously doubt that they are lying about a policy that they will have to substantiate. If they do substantiate it, then the Wimberly's better have some witnesses to what they "overheard" or they are toast.

So take your lie about anyone showing my ignorance and stick it where your head usually resides.

SexyBossyBBW -> RE: Racism alive and doing well in the south (7/31/2011 2:12:14 AM)

I'll agree with you, regarding Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter, but they were much more progressive/liberal than Obama is.

If you agree they had a difficult time, and agree that there is a racism factor (and Lord knows, there is), we can agree, that the Republicans, with the new extension nut-job right extremists, uhm, I mean, the Tea Party, have been in unison, in their attempts to Waterloo Obama. If the US' ceiling has to cave in, for them to achieve it, so be it, in some of their minds... Not realizing, it'll fall on their dumbass heads, not the now rich Obama Family. M

The late writer Molly Ivans called President George Bush “Shrub” - so calling President Barack Obama “Obumma” is acceptable?

She called him "Shrub" because he named one of his oil enterprises "Arbusto", which he thought meant "bush".  The meaning's closer to "shrub".

SilverMark -> RE: Racism alive and doing well in the south (7/31/2011 4:53:52 AM)

How in the world did this get from Racism to Clinton?...Quite the extrapolation!

At any rate, racism is endemic to human behavior, the Southern United States simply made it an art form!

Yes, it has gotten better, but it is still a bit institutionalized. I get a little ill each time I see an article in the

local newspaper about a school that it is 96% populated by African Americans named Nathan Bedford Forrest (Civil War Calvary General, Founder of the KKK)

and it is 2011? and no one bothered to change the name of the school. Same with Robert E. Lee High school,

knowing that Jacksonville and Duval county merged governments to only keep the African American community

from dominating the city politically. Finally, this past election they have a black Mayor!...He was the most qualified,

outworked his competition, and the city looked past his race and voted for him....I hope he does a great job! One hell

of a movment in thinking, from a city that had done so much to to keep those results from EVER happening!

Edwynn -> RE: Racism alive and doing well in the south (7/31/2011 6:22:38 AM)

Aw, have a little humor there.

I remember when very young going to see the minor league baseball team called the Atlanta Crackers (which name I suppose was some lame attempt as a humorous joust to the NY Yankees) which had several black players on the team, including Tommy Aaron (Henry Aaron's younger brother) when the Braves were still in Milwaukee. I was too young to catch the irony at the time, but when it sunk in at some later point in life it certainly caused a chuckle.

Yups, black guys on a team called the Crackers.

In any case, I bet your city's electing its first black mayor was almost as big a deal as St. Charles Illinois getting its first black resident. I was there for the latter occasion.
