Status: offline 		Never been able to make it to any of the M&G's so far.  But I'll also toss Atlanta into the plate as a nice east coast type option, with a great club and fun scene, not to mention overall fun cultural spot to hang.

But my local partner would drag me to LA in a heartbeat and we're already planning to get to Las Vegas in October.

Atlanta is definitely a viable option LA for all the reasons you've suggested. But regardless of wherever it may be, I will more than happy to be there and assist in whatever way is humanly possible.

I must say that this is going quite nicely and I do look forward to a poll being posted to find what the general consensus is.

Vegas was great! Everyone who showed up had a GREAT time. I just wish we got to play all the games we planned, but not enough people actually showed up.

I'd be happy to get involved with organizing another one. If LA was the location I'd have even more resources and would open up our place for a party too. It would be easy to have exclusive access to a club nearby. But again, like Vegas, that would require a commitment. We had 50 people saying they wanted to go to Vegas and 12 (Lil is that right?) actually showed up. I didn't mind making up the difference to pay for the club access, once you commit, you have to honor your obligation, but there is a high 'wanna' aspect to consider.

The problem is, that there are many people who like the concept but when it comes time to put money and/or commit to time into the equation the reality doesn't equal the desire. There is no "perfect date", no magically acceptable travel and hotel cost, no perfect location.

All that said I'd be happy to do it again because I can't wait to see what you'll be talked into buying this time!

Personally, I like the idea of Los Angeles, as it's definitely user friendly, if one excludes the use of the 405 at peak hours. Well, I guess that would also have to include the 710, the 110, the 105, and the list can go on and on. But driving around in So. Cal. never detered the approx. 47 gazillion people who do this every second of the day. I just wished they weren't traveling about all at the same time. I've often wondered don't these people have homes they can go to, and why must they all insist on being out here clogging up a perfectly good freeway system.

Los Angeles is definitely one of the more culturally diverse places I've ever lived, and as you said Merc, with lot of resources. Besides, if you didn't have enough room for all to attend a party in the hills of PV, well, they can always find a myriad of things to do, like maybe go shopping at the huge mall over in Torrence.

You should jump right on in here shaggy, as I know you have a lot to add to the mix. For there is not a single soul out there who doesn't  have something to add. Perhaps an interesting perspective, a bit of much needed humor, or even simply to enlight us on who you are and what are some of your passions, hopes, dreams, aspirations. Not to mention the shoebox of 20 dollar bills you might be willing to contribute to the 'Meet and Greet' cause.

In all seriousness, if this does come to fruition, I would hope that you (and also others that typically don't post very often) would be able to attend. Sure would be a great time for all. Particularly if held in the midst of Loki's forrest.

Beth, I understand completely about the desire to come and the reality of attending. But, if you would like to organize it, I would be willing to help in any way I can. If it is going to be held in LA, then chances are I will not be able to attend, but I would still like to help out. Let me know on the other side :)
