ORIGINAL: Hillwilliam "Dr. Charles Monnett, PhD, a wildlife biologist with the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEM)," He works for the US government. They don't apply for grants, they submit a budget, presumably to the dept of the interior. Governmental agencies are rather sensetive to a phone call from a Senator are they not? Senators are rather sensetive to phone calls from lobbyists who give them large campaign donations are they not? Are you being deliberately obtuse today? I see no evidence of false data. I see a LOT of circumstancial evidence that XYZ oil and energy, Inc. doesn't like this guy and wants him silenced so they called their pet senator(s). Are you? Grant vs budget allocation, so sue me. Budgeting and granting them funds is the same fucking thing. Again, all you have is vague feelings about what may be behind it. What I have is an overt, public action that no government agency would take without basis. We'll see when the investigation is done. Budgeting and granting funds for research are TOTALLY different. University then govt then private. I worked there for years, remember? If you believe that a governmental agency wouldn't take action like that without basis just because senator so and so made a phone call, you are INCREDIBLY naive. You are totally correct that I have a feeling (but no hard evidence) about what is behind it but it is far from vague. Now, they are saying it doesn't have anything to do with his scientific integrity but they wont tell anyone including him why he is suspended so answer this, wilbur. Seriously, why is he suspended? If you have a better idea, I'm listening.
