ORIGINAL: LillyBoPeep i actually prefer FL to here. i like that group owners and moderators are different everywhere you go, and you can just avoid groups with administration you don't agree with. i like that there are so many different groups you can join; so someone who IS asking for wank fodder can actually just go get it without either irritating other people or being belittled for it. I agree, Lilly. There are completely uncensored groups and groups specific to a particular genre. There are groups I've joined, only to find I just didn't relate to, so I left, and found other groups that are right down my ally. I've found, at least in the groups I've joined, those who get booted are those who haven't adhered to the group rules after several attempts at requesting they do. One of the groups I'm in was started awhile back by an M/s couple who just wanted their own little place to talk openly to friends about M/s relationships. It grew and grew and grew, but they keep the rules/atmosphere as it was in the beginning - since it's their group that people are wanting to join. Those who don't abide by what they originally created and enjoy the group for are asked to turn it around, and if they don't, they're removed. Meanwhile, the group keeps growing (over 20,000 members now), so they're apparently attracting a lot of people who find that appealing. Those who don't have branched off with their own groups, so it's all good. I found a group I didn't like at all a couple of years ago, so I left it. They've changed things around and now it's a great group - I rejoined last year. I just like that there's so much variety there, and there are groups which talk about things that would get blasted by the majority out of CM. To me, CM is a "group" and FL has a bunch of other groups. I like seeing the various takes on things - CM gives one aspect of insight but the overall belief systems are not the end all, be all. Same with the individual FL groups. Same with the offline groups. I enjoy seeing all the differences. And I like that you can see where your friends have posted and follow them there. It's how I've discovered other cool groups.
