again, nice try. I just merely copied your journal posts in the exact order they were posted. Newest to oldest. You are pretty stupid for someone claiming to have a phd.

Oh you would know all about stupid, wouldn't you? How many languages do you speak? Surely English can't be your native language or are you really that limited?

Btw is that a colostomy bag or are you getting excited, old boy?

domiguy -> RE: Blackbird with broken wing (8/9/2011 6:26:35 AM)

If I were you I would try and learn to speak one language with thought and intelligence. Unfortunately you only speak douche no matter what tongue you attempt.

LadyConstanze -> RE: Blackbird with broken wing (8/9/2011 6:34:34 AM)

I'm impressed, you managed to attempt a whole sentence with some words that have more than 4 letters, not a bad effort for you, you're still trying to come to terms with your 1st language, now when nurse is changing the colostomy bag, she might say some words and if you pay attention you might expand your vocabulary. Is a colostomy back interfering with nature?

Btw the bird seems to do rather well, but then again, it's not bitter, seems to be a happy chirpy bird, and btw blackbirds aren't "pretty birds" now if you do use that great thing called Google, you could even find pics of them, the females tend to be a bit dull brown, a lot less attractive plumage than say pigeons... Oops, I forgot, you deem them as "lesser" birds.

ladyc, good on you, i'm glad ms blackie is doing well.

domiguy -> RE: Blackbird with broken wing (8/9/2011 5:39:13 PM)

pictures or it didn't happen.

LadyConstanze -> RE: Blackbird with broken wing (8/9/2011 5:51:16 PM)

I'm touched that you're so interested in the bird, though I have to disappoint you, not a pretty bird, I got the pic my other half took when I brought her in, no new pics as it is inside and the flash would go off and she would be scared, I don't think I want to scare a bird for you, I think you do enough of that yourself

Anyway, Ms Blackie before she got her wing bandaged, I was going to say "please no stains" but then I realized it would be your own screen/keyboard, so I guess it's fine, I won't tell her and upset her... Next wild bird I pick up, I can't guarantee it will be a pretty one, just for you (maybe that will upset the balance of nature less or so), I'll just pick one up who needs help, it's that pesky thing about being human, maybe you're lucky that you don't have to worry about that?

I think she's beautiful! [:)]

Just don't start dressing her in little outfits.  That would upset the balance of nature.

heartcream -> RE: Blackbird with broken wing (8/12/2011 1:09:39 AM)

I adore birds. I love birds. I feed them everyday. I admit the Pigeons coming in increasing numbers sets my teeth on edge. I love the Sparrows. Sometimes I get Cardinals, Red Finches, Yellow Finches.

I have had injured birds cross my path numerous times, I have some stories that touch my heart grandly.

Interesting points Aswad, really enjoyed reading all that.

The bickering back and forth is always charming, I have done it myself here and there. Pulling out Phd's and how many languages can be spoken is a tad insecure but it happens. Some of us rub some of us the wrong way to be sure. I like how these threads really do reveal who we are in some ways. One can genuinely learn about ourselves here n'cest pas?

I love birds.

The bird you helped LC is adorable to be sure <3

heartcream -> RE: Blackbird with broken wing (8/12/2011 2:21:24 AM)

I remember reading Carlos Castaneda back in the day and he said something (I wish I could get my paws on and quote but it was) to the effect that sometimes when we think we are helping, let's say a spider, or a snail, we may in fact be interfering with it's Path. I think he used a spider as the example. I take spiders outside, especially if they are in the tub and I need to get in. I feel they are happier outside, but I have often wondered if that is true or not.

Can you put a bit of lipstick on her beak, Lady C? Not that she isn't attractive enough already, though.

Do you want me to upset nature?

She's hated by the cats now, because it was rather easy to potty train her (she still poos about every 10 minutes but gives signs when she does so, so whenever she did cock her head a certain way and fluffed herself up, we put her on the designated spaces - shallow plastic containers with sand - and gave her a treat when she did the business in there, worked well) she is now allowed to hop around the house when we are there. The cats understand that she's a family member like ratman, but Ms Blackie likes to eat from the cat bowls and scoff the cat food. At the rate she's eating, I'm a bit worried that she won't be able to fly even when the wing is mended because she might be too fat.
Kind of funny to see her pecking away at the cat food with her human and canine body guards, while the cats give her filthy looks.

I'm sure a pie of "stupid bird" would be equally delicious and less birds needed, if I'd be a meat eater I would send a dinner invitation.

Phoenixpower -> RE: Blackbird with broken wing (8/12/2011 7:24:22 AM)

You could also always ring them for advice (you might have done so already, though they aren't in your area)

http://www.wildlifeaid.org.uk/

after all...they are on UK TV a lot and they say on their homepage "If you find a wildlife casualty please call us for advice".

Good luck LadyConstanze, and great to hear, that you try to help that bird [:)]

And in case you start to do so...and need knitting patterns to knit her some stuff....lemme know...and I will have a look for you [;)] *ducks*

LadyConstanze -> RE: Blackbird with broken wing (8/12/2011 8:05:07 AM)

The vet is looking after it quite well and the wildlife charity in our area was a bit stretched for funds, to be honest she seems to be recovering really well, I brought the lappy to the kitchen and it's a bit odd, bird guarded by 2 Dobies, sometimes chirping at me and acting like a small bird (opening the mouth wide, which means she wants more food), inspecting everything and trying to peck my toes.

I can't knit and I don't think birdie needs clothes, she has enough feathers and currently that sort of gauze body stocking that keeps her wing in place. When we're going for the check-up, I shall request a darker one for her if they have, the white looks wrong on a blackbird.

Oddly enough I haven't heard her sing, so I wonder if only the males sing or if she's too young?

As I said, I'm not a huge bird fan, but she's quite endearing but considering the trouble she causes around here (all the little bird potties and cautioning the dogs to guard her when I go to the bathroom), it will also be nice to see her go back to her natural environment, she's become a bit of a tyrant.

heartcream -> RE: Blackbird with broken wing (8/12/2011 8:16:16 AM)

Not a huge bird fan? Wtf is that supposed to mean? This thread is getting really lame. No pun intended.

windchymes -> RE: Blackbird with broken wing (8/12/2011 9:00:57 AM)

I just knew that if anybody could figure out how to potty train a bird, you would, LadyC [:)]
