Not a huge bird fan? Wtf is that supposed to mean? This thread is getting really lame. No pun intended.

Then get thee somewhere else, I didn't force you to read the thread.

As I mentioned a few times before, I am not especially drawn to things with feathers, I don't hate them but it never once crossed my mind to get birds as pets. There you go, I hope you can sleep now.

I just knew that if anybody could figure out how to potty train a bird, you would, LadyC [:)]

LOL, I asked a friend how she did it, because she has several birds who fly around but seem to only poo in designated areas. She told me to watch the bird and if she does do something typical each time before she poos (a bit like the Dobie poo spin - Alfie turns 3 times counterclockwise), catch it in time put it where it can poo and reward. Pretty much like puppy training really, apart from the fact that I am on my 3rd shower this afternoon as I have a tendency to be barefoot, clumsy and stepped in Blackie's toilet repeatedly, doh!

My dog does circles, too.....or ellipses, actually, that start long and then get smaller and smaller till she finally can't hold it any longer and she squats and goes, lol.

Oh thanks doctor! I would not ever get a bird as a pet but not because I dont like them but because it is pretty cruel. You think you are so smart and all but really you come off stupid as shit.

Since this comes from a knobhead, I guess I need to try really hard to pretend I'm gutted or even remotely hurt, epic fail...

Of course having a bird that was raise in captivity and being kept in a big cage would be cruel, whatever, as I said, never crossed my mind to have one.

Btw did you skip spelling and grammar lessons?

That is second-guessing nature by remaining apart from it, which does not necessarily constitute respect for nature.

Remote from universal nature, and living by complicated artifice, man in civilization surveys the creatures through the glass of his knowledge.... And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren; they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth. ~Henry Beston

'Other nations' is a good phrase. Appropriate way to see them.
