Chocolate chip cookies made with real butter, real vanilla, and Ghirardelli dark chocolate chips.

My dessert today.

I must be a weirdo........this whole red velvet cake thing I do not get. It is okayyyyy, but nothing I get excited about.

Me too. It's good, but not my fist choice.

Favorites are:

Cheesecake. Plain. No fruit no flavors, just wonderful plain cheesecake.

Berry Pie. Warmed, a la mode

Creme Brûlée. Not chocolate, just plain, creamy, creme brûlée.

Yum.

ETA: Plain cheesecake is the bomb. However, I've had some chocolate cheesecake that was pretty damn good too

I don't think the turn this thread has taken will be helping anyone with their struggle to lose weight -- THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!  Now i am craving my favorite types of desserts lol

But just to join in the groans of god yes great desserts:

Creme brulee cheese cake is the bomb!

BTW plain cheese cake can be eaten in moderation on low carb plans lol.

I also like berries dishes -- actual fruit not "topping"  with dabs of flavored cremes and different flavored mascarpones - usually  like a honey vanilla flavor over various berried -- groan  --

I can also be happy with blueberries, cottage cheese and splenda mixed together.

Poached fruit also with a dab of creme

i love berry dishes, too.
i actually found a store-bought blackberry cobbler that tasted like my grandma's homemade. i was stunned. haha =p
man do i love some blackberry cobbler...

as far as cheesecakes go, dulce du leche is probably my favorite, followed by strawberry or raspberry.

I often tell people that IF they come to my house for dinner and get home made cheese cake with a topping made from red raspberries I picked, they are very loved. I hoard my red raspberries.

Eli's cheesecake....mmmm...best I've ever had. Really dense and rich.

All this talk of cheesecake is really starting to get to me. If it wasn't for my damned diet I'd head to the local italian bakery for homemade cannolis. Sigh.

I really don't have a sweet tooth, but a good slice of cheese cake or wine gums...

Mind you having spent most of last week on the coast and gorging myself with seafood, I would hate to see my cholesterol levels, on 2nd thoughts, my cholesterol levels are always very low, so maybe now the are normal... The surfing and the walks along the beach with the doggies worked quite well, and the dogs haven't eaten the cottage... I guess I am a bit odd, traveling with an injured blackbird, a pet rat and 2 Dobes, the cats are residing at home having the run of the house and the neighbour has the key to feed them. I am sure I get back tomorrow and I will be greeted with disdain....

I am not a dessert fan myself, thank goodness.  I'll save my calories for alcohol every time.

To be honest, slice of cake or glass of wine and cheese - latter wins every time!

I have a thing for sweets, especially when I'm stressed. Now when I was younger and I still drank then yeah, alcohol would have won if I had to choose. Now though....yeah, it's one way to tell when I'm stressed lol.

Never had a thing for sweets and don't like being drunk (I am a cheap date anyway, low alcohol tolerance) but a nice glass of wine and some nibbles... I can nurse a glass of nice wine for quite a while and savour it. You sent me down to the basement and I opened a bottle of white Bordeaux and the brie and camembert is just perfectly ripe... A bit late to make garlic bread.....

Yes and you have a choice...either accept my Red Velvet Cake Collar or beat the streets for your nearest 7-11 doughnut case. If you are willing, to travel the many miles to receive this delicious offering, then do so. I will not cram it down your throat. (Until you get here..All bets are off then)

Gee, me go there? To...Alaska? Too damn cold! *shudders* How's about you come here? Hawai`i is nice and warm. ;)

To each his/her/their own. I'm sure you would agree that we all may have different tastes. ;)

Don't get me wrong, I love a good cheesecake and all, but I drool over red velvet cake. I guess I'm just more partial to the flour based cakes. :)
