So i disagree with your rant and you post a whole post personally attacking me?

It's not so much attacking as acknowledging a trend, is it?

Let's face it. You're a firecracker online. You nitpick almost as much as me. You've got nearly manic stamina in some threads. Missing the point is not unheard of. The kajirette adoration choir is not news, and is kind of cute. Mostly, there's the question of whether you go off at times, as in 'blow up', whether directed at a single person or everyone in a thread. I think that question answers itself in the referenced posting history. The objective flaws and shortcomings on a personal level have not even been mentioned.

Granted, it might be more tactful to put everything in a PM or something, but in the past, you've preferred laundering things in the open, and consistently set the bar for what constitutes an attack far higher than what was the case in the post you're now miffed about.

Hoo boy, don't try the pm.  Send her one and continue to try (we're talking 2 messages) and threats to report you as spam/harassment/etc. to site support will follow.

I'm not even close to holy but I'm working on it thanks.

I just can't ever imagine getting angry over a post someone makes online or over anything at all online. Why should I get angry over some words on a screen? Can't say anyone has ever made me feel less than from words on a computer.

But I hope that you feel better.

erieangel -> RE: Fat People (8/13/2011 10:41:27 PM)

nephandi, I agree with everything you said. I've been overweight my entire life. My mother put be on my first diet when I was just 8. I've long given up "dieting" and try to eat healthy. But like LB has said, it costs much more to eat healthy than it does to eat the unhealthy foods. When my kids were small and I was on SSI I really couldn't afford to eat healthy. I tried to give them balanced meals, but sometimes I couldn't and sometimes I ended up skipping a meal because there wasn't enough food to go around and then later I would eat bread and butter or something just to stop the hunger pains. It was most important that my kids never went to bed hungry. Oddly, even when I was skipping meals, I didn't lose weight, because my body went into "starvation mode" and started storing every single excess calorie. I burned muscle but not fat and became weak and sick from doing so.

I had a client I worked with for about 1 year who is extremely overweight. At 20, he is well over 300 lbs and I find that extremely sad. This kid (anybody younger than my children is automatically a kid in my mind) has spent the better part of the 8 months sitting in his apartment playing video games and watching porn and getting even bigger. And then I saw a picture of him from only 4 years ago. He had been thin!! His psychiatric medications has a lot to do with why he has gained so much weight so quickly.

On the issue of fat Doms. I recently met one. We got along quite and the weight issues didn't seem to bother either of us. We talked every day for weeks, met for coffee a few time. And then we went for a day trip to some land he rents and uses when he hunts. We took along a meal of chicken and corn and a fruit along with diet sodas and had an enjoyable afternoon strolling through the woods. And then it came time to clean up. By the time everything was packed away and we were ready to leave, the sweat was pouring off him and he was short of breath. He tried to explain the sweating by claiming it was the humidity, but it was actually cool that day, not humid. Obviously he is really out of shape. While the weight doesn't bother me, his lack of stamina does. I tend to be active, take a lot of walks, etc., and if somebody can't keep up with me, I have a problem with it. I don't think he liked that I pointed out that it wasn't humid, either, because we've barely talked since.

I can deal with an overweight and even obese Dom--according to the BMI index and every other weight chart, I am obese myself. I don't want to deal with a Dom who is both overweight and unhealthy one who can not pack up a truck and put away a few chairs and clean up the leavings from a lunch without ending up short of breath.

What is the difference if someone say something with their voice or write something with their keyboard.he problem is not this one thread, this one post, what makes me angry is how overweight people are treated all over, doctors do not want to treat us. When I was at a train a few moth ago a woman continued to jab her fingers into my side as she though I was to fat to travel and let me say that I am not so fat that I take up more than my seat, I get called names when I walk down the street, people get thrown things at, one girl in my city had a man manhandle her off the buss as she was fat so he though there would be room for more people if she was not there.

There are many overweight people that do not dare go outside in fear of the harassment they have to take. Discrimination against overweight people are running rampant, and it even go so far as health care and other needed services, many overweight people are driven to suicide. So yes I am angry, and I am not so much angry at this OP's post but the general tendency in society to discriminate against overweight people and draw conclusions on our persons, our willpower and our life in general based entierly on appearance.

I wish you well

Oddly, I keep looking for these huge numbers of obese children & I'm not finding them. I have gone to elementary schools & looked at nearly every student at times & I've seen maybe 2-5 out of an entire school body. So I get confused. Where are they?

Per the CDC web site:

Childhood Overweight and Obesity

Obesity now affects 17% of all children and adolescents in the United States - triple the rate from just one generation ago.

Almost anywhere will do but my favorite for extra punch would be right in-front of a weight-watchers office. Maybe we could gain a few supporters as well.

I might even make bumper stickers that we could put on our asses.

As long as there's red velvet cake, you can lead me anywhere. ;)

I don't know why you wouldn't just Google it, but since you asked....

This is a recipe, so you can see what ingredients go into it. The kind I like is basically a chocolate cake with cream cheese icing. *slobber, drool* Red food colouring is used for the cake to impart a deep red colour and hence the name, red velvet.

This is what it looks like.

I don't know if I feel sorry for you that you've missed out on such a scrumptious dessert or envious, since you can't miss what you've never had. ;)

GeekMistress -> RE: Fat People (8/14/2011 2:34:37 AM)

OP hates the look of Fat, OP should avoid public arenas in general. There are a lot of Fat People in the world, and those Fat People are singularly hoping to assault her vision. It's in the Fat Agenda. It's like the Gay Agenda and the Liberal Agenda, but it's bigger and has frosting and coffee stains on the leather (a cow skin Agenda, haha!). At the Fat Person Conference (hosted by Yum! Foods), we singled out the OP after a grueling and heated vote between her and the Steroids Guy from Youtube. To those of you that are also offended by the site of Fat People, we apologize for offending you, you weren't our target and we were on our way to the OP's general area.

Many Apologies,

Well I think that is one thing that is important to remember, obesity do create health risks, but being obese do not mean that one is unhealthy.

This is true, but what proportion of significantly obese / morbidly obese people actually consistently do healthy things (i.e. eating healthy stuff / regular exercise)? I would wager several pictures of my beautiful cats that the proportion is so low as to be negligible..

Thank you for the information. That looks good, perhaps I will bake it for my mother's birthday and surprise her with it.

What percentage of thin people actually get regular exercise. Most fat people I know eat healthy stuff, the problem is more the amount of non healthy things that are being eaten in addition, as well as some people being able to eat about anything they want and still stay thin, while others get fat on a normal diet. However you might be surprised over the amount of people who are overweight, and happy.

How many cats do you have, I have one, but I would love to have more, cats are amazing.

I wish you well

I'm sure the percentage of thin / normal weight people who do so is pretty low too..and,, with respects, I wasn't really referring to people who were just overweight, but people who are clearly obese (if we're using BMI, the 35-40+ ppl), but in my experience the people who are at that level rarely get involved in exercise and will often go for the easy / cheap / quickly available option with regards to food..unless they are actively trying to lose weight (rather than just 'remain healthy'). Certainly not saying its the same for everyone - I spent two years with a woman who, despite being quite large, could beat the snot out of me in squash =)

Two cats - both gingers - male and female and get on like a house on fire. The male is lazy as fuck and loves being around people and the female has passed all her cute kitten school exams =)

nephandi -> RE: Fat People (8/14/2011 5:06:26 AM)

Greetings

I am obese, and I do bellydancing and walks and is going to start swimming once a week just over summer. On the food front however yes I try to eat healthy, but I have depression so I often do not have the energy to make a full dinner and the half done things that are sold in foil is often not healthy.

My cat is Maude, she is a callie, we had a yellow male before but we lost him. Maude acts like a little princess, spoiled rotten but adorable.

I wish you well

I  have some fat neighbors-  and I can guess why-  -  most likely they eat the wrong foods-  but there is no point even bringing that up to them.    Anyone who rents furniture is not going to switch to whole wheat bread.   lol

http://www.getamericafit.org/statistics-obesity-in-america.html

Here are some stats people may be interested in.

What i would be interested in is someone finding statistics that counter these -- because what i see on this thread is people really not believing the actuality of the statistics.   What really concerns me are people who aren't believing its becoming or is a huge problem with kids nowadays.

And for those who don't think your overweightness or obesity doesn't effect others -- if you work for a company that pays your health insurance as a group it does.   They base premiums on all the issues and potential issues your company may have, and they ask your weight because they determine where people fall in the scale of obesity and they utilize that as a potential for health risks.   I know because i asked our health insurance company when we had to fill out these questionnaires so they can quote our company on health insurance.

I recently traveled to other countries--and what struck me was the absence of fat people--four different counties, and I kid you not, despite the presence of American fast food chains in all those other countries (boy, did THAT make me sad) I did not see ANY overweight people.  Then I realized...everyone walked or biked everywhere, there were huge fresh markets daily, all over the cities, food and dining was something that people enjoyed--and made each meal count.

Where were all the fat people?  At the airport--American tourists.

I found the OPs "rant" remarkably offensive.  The obesity gene runs in my family, and I've watched my father and all of his siblings struggle with obesity for my entire life. My ex was fat--as was her whole family--I saw the daily struggles, the rude comments people made to her, the trouble she often had sitting in an airplane seat, a tight restaurant space etc.

I really don't understand people like the OP-- how can you be so frickin' mean?

Actually, the integration of American fast food has been sloly increasing the average weight wherever they are placed.

Japan for instance. Their average weight has actually raised like... I think 5 pounds since the integration of American fast food. Like complete integration.
