Ron PaulI'm scheduled to be on Fox Business with Lou Dobbs tonight at 7PM Eastern. Tune in if you can.

Awesome, I'll watch that but what I really can't wait to see are the debates coming up. My guess we'll see that Perry is a bobble head well hell that all of them are bobble heads which will vault Paul into the lead. America will get a good look at his common sense approach.

::head - desk:: I read that as Hunky was going to be on Lou Dobbs. I get it now. [sm=oops.gif]

My apologies for coming so late to the party but I wanted to read the whole thread before I responded to this, and the thread kept going and going.

Ron Paul's not my top candidate, nor is he my bottom, and I was surprised to read about him plus racism. I did some digging with an open mind, and am shocked that if he did not hold these views that he would let them go out under his name.

The only complete article from the Ron Paul Political Report on the Internet that I am aware of is a 1992 piece titled "LOS ANGELES RACIAL TERRORISM," on the subject of the so-called Rodney King riots in South Central Los Angeles in 1991. It is available to us today because it was posted to the talk.politics.misc newsgroup on July 30, 1993 by Dan Gannon, a notorious white supremacist and Holocaust denier, and archived by the Nizkor Project, an anti-revisionism organization that was active in cataloging hate speech on the early public Internet.

http://articles.cnn.com/2008-01-10/politics/paul.newsletters_1_newsletters-blacks-whites?_s=PM:POLITICS

"These stories may be very old in Ron Paul's life, but they're very new to the American public and they deserve to be totally ventilated," said David Gergen, a CNN senior political analyst. "I must say I don't think there's an excuse in politics to have something go out under your name and say, 'Oh by the way, I didn't write that.'"

...The controversial newsletters include rants against the Israeli lobby, gays, AIDS victims and Martin Luther King Jr. -- described as a "pro-Communist philanderer." One newsletter, from June 1992, right after the LA riots, says "order was only restored in L.A. when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks."

Another says, "The criminals who terrorize our cities -- in riots and on every non-riot day -- are not exclusively young black males, but they largely are. As children, they are trained to hate whites, to believe that white oppression is responsible for all black ills, to 'fight the power,' to steal and loot as much money from the white enemy as possible."

Given the era he grew up in I dont doubt that he held those views at one time. Whether he evolved past them is the real issue.

Speaking of the era he grew up in, the libs made much of McCains age (71) in 2008. They will be all over Paul who will be 77 at election time.

Have you also searched for the videos and interviews of his reply to these allegations?

If you don't take the time to find out the whole story then it's not really an open assessment. I've been through that with Hannah banana's.. so I'll say to you the same as I did with her.

Take the time to get the whole story. I'm not going to provide the videos for anyone because very rarely does anyone change their mind. It's not my job nor is this thread about that so although this seems like an attempt to "discuss" the politics of Ron Paul... I'll pass.. Maybe on another thread.

I'm not seeing any of the other videos or articles/interviews BTW so that tells me that you might not have researched it with the open mind like you claim to have done.

So if you really want to discuss it..go find what his stances are on these subjects and what his voting record says and every other bit of info you can find. The articles are only one side of the story.. If that's all you need to make your case then we truly don't have anything to discuss.

It looks like Perry is pulling ahead of the Mormon -

quote:

Rick Perry has taken a double-digit lead over Mitt Romney in the Republican presidential nomination race in two polls released on Wednesday, an indication that the Texas governor could replace the former Massachusetts governor as early favorite.

If this is the case, then Ron Paul might be getting out Ron Pauled by another Texican -

quote:

Thirty-three percent said they would vote for Perry, versus 20 percent for Romney. Bachmann had 16 percent support. The rest of the field was in single digits, with Gingrich at 8 percent, Paul and Cain at 6 percent, Santorum at 4 percent and Huntsman with 3 percent.

Mitt Romney Caught Stealing Contact Info from Third-Parties | Ron Paul 2012 | Sound Money, Peace andwww.dailypaul.comAnybody else receive an unsolicited e-mail from Mitt Romney this morning, "We Can't Afford Four More Years," with today's date as the supposed day that you opted in to his e-mails?

FirstQuaker -> RE: Ron Paul Getting ready for my first trip to New Hampshire since our huge success at Ames. I leave in (8/24/2011 6:34:58 PM)

Well, in a toss up between the Chamber of Commerce Republican Romney, the Texas political chameleon and nomad Perry and the real libertarian Paul, I would have to go with Paul.

Nobody can claim Ron Paul is a man for all seasons, or has a moral compass that points wherever political advantage might be had.

pahunkboy -> RE: Ron Paul Getting ready for my first trip to New Hampshire since our huge success at Ames. I leave in (8/24/2011 6:40:45 PM)

He's a big talker but easily outclassed by Paul.. That's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to the upcoming debates. None of the other politicians have an ounce of knowledge that Paul has and I think you'll be surprised by the passion this guy puts forth.. If you haven't seen it for yourself yet. It's obvious that he outschools them on policy which is probably why Perry has declined to speak about Paul probably.. Could be other reasons as well but my bet is that.

Yeah well from the same cite -

quote:

Perry's support among Republicans was not dented by strong comments just after getting into the race, when he raised eyebrows among some of the party's opinion leaders by seeming to threaten Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and questioning Obama's patriotism.

Perry is now a fire breathing Libertarian, how convenient.

pahunkboy -> RE: Ron Paul Getting ready for my first trip to New Hampshire since our huge success at Ames. I leave in (8/24/2011 6:52:17 PM)

But how can anyone believe Perry based on his NWO governance of TX?

I think it's way too early of course to know but my bet is people will see him for what he is when he gets in front of the people debating the other candidates. I've watched videos of him and he reminds me so much of Bush that it turns my stomach.

One big show for the people.
