ORIGINAL: willbeurdaddy Worst POTUS wrt to economics since Carter and maybe since the Great Depression. Foreign policy he's average. ...not sure he's as bad as that in economic terms, but he's certainly no super hero in that regard. Foreign policy, again uninspired.....but at least done with some degree of intelligence. From a furriners pov, he is so much better than Bush the US will get some positive bounce back from that. social policy? a two steps forward, one and a half steps back sort of guy, I reckon. Which only really leaves tone......which is less an absolute value than a relative one. What i am seeing is that the right seem unwillig to engage with Obama, electorally speaking, except through the mouth of someone leaning hard on the old church/state divide. It's that last area, if any, which would give Obama a second term. Banging the bible, ala Bachmann and Perry, wont give them enough of the middle to win against Obama. Right now any of them would beat Obama, ainec. A year from now you may be right, depending on how successful the super Congress is in negotiating toward a balanced budget and restoring business' confidence in DC. It will be a hard sell to not give too much credit to the coach on the sidelines. Then it will be a fight where a Bible thumper could swing it back to Obama. It wont be Bachmann, it could be Perry, but my money is still on Romney, and I can't see things improving fast enough for him to lose. The recent polling in Ohio, Florida and Virginia are dismal for Obama and of the 3 I can only see Virginia improving for him in the next year.
