The last bunch of administrations have done wonders for the environment. The air is much cleaner now because there is no fucking industry. Happy now ? Now you can breathe as you go begging in the streets.

I am sure that you think that it perfectly ok for the elderly to be stuck in their homes because of smog alerts, or the people with chronic lung diseases to suffer the effects of air pollution. Perhaps you like the idea of a child with chronic asthma to NOT be able to enjoy a day in the park because the smog is so bad?

And I am equally as sure that you don't have a clue about what I find ok or not. You are too busy painting everyone to the right of you as demons to actually listen to what people around you are saying.

Ya think that maybe, just maybe, business and jobs go hand in hand?

Or that for some strange some reason that absolutely befuddle you and jlf, a lot of people actually value jobs?

Yes and we all know that protecting American businesses is far more important than protecting public health.

I'm sure every person alive values having some clean air to breathe too. Want clean water?? One of my mother's several husbands was a part time commercial fisherman, in the mid70s he lost that job because the fishing industry on Lake Erie went bust due to how badly polluted the lake was. One of Clinton's major accomplishments was to clean up the Great Lakes and the fishing industry on Lake Erie has been making a slow but steady come back these past years.

The US Chamber of Commerce has applauded Obama's decision.
At the same time, Obama has claimed his decision was based upon the regulations due to come online in 2013--he is avoiding the cost of instituting new rules at this time and waiting for the implementation of even tougher rules later (or so he claims).

And actually regulations should be good for business because tough regulations mean fewer people calling in sick after breathing the smog-filled air. Fewer people calling in sick keeps health care costs down, increases productivity and lowers the cost of hiring temporary workers.

Once again, the majority of the country are looking at the short terms of 'business as usual' rather than looking at the long term gains the changes would have caused.

If you folks really despised Bush, you should be cranking on your man. I mean hell, every time I turn around it's like he's following the same footsteps. We got tarps and stimulus, gitmo and gitmo, wars and wars, decades and 2024, the Patriot Act and the Patriot Act, expansions of power and expansions of power...

But Yay! he's a DEMOCRAT and that makes everything better.

Let me make sure I have my leftists calendar straight -

NEXT week all the lefties will be howling that the GOP moved all the jobs to China

THIS week, evil employers must die die die...

That sound right?

You seem to be saying here that bush and obama are clones of one another and that it was right for bush to suck the dick of big business but if his clone obama does it he is wrong.
