I like the idea of a newbies forum. Perhaps call it "New to the Forums?" so people won't get offended by "newbies."

I wish people would be more civil, but don't see a way around that without the potential for excessive moderation.

I think it should be harder for people to create sock puppet accounts. I can see valid reasons for having a few accounts - to separate personal from professional, for example - but it's annoying to have a new avatar with the same voice popping up like Whack-a-Mole.

I agree with Kali about the sock puppets
when one man has four accounts and uses them to insult the same people with all four, it gets bloody daft, especially when he edits his alters posts and then posts the same shit under his regular name.

In many ways, this site is working for the majority of the people here and yes, like any other site there will always be ones who abuse and deliberately violate the TOS.

As for  the moderation: I have been on here long enough to see and experience the varying degrees of moderation by the Mods and personally, I like the leniency the current ones use. In any case, I give the benefit of the doubt to the Mods for doing their best to maintain a fairly drama less atmosphere here. I also know that some Mods are more stricter and it is evident to how severe they will smack down a poster they feel is out of control. After all, moderation is enacted based on the guidelines they have to follow and how the individual moderator interprets whether they need to step in or not. Personally it doesn't matter what the Mod's gender is, my only concern is they are doing their job as unbiased as possible.

I agree with igor and will suggest that the "Ask a Master" and "ask a Mistress" be renamed to "Ask a Male Dominant" and "Ask a Female Dominant" based on the reason that not all male dominants identify as a Master and probably the same applies to many female dominants. I also like the idea of a new section created and called " New to the Forums" It does lend a sense of neutrality that many who do find the term "newbie" derogatory.

I do wonder in regards to necro threads that if after a period of time, say 6 months of inactivity, they be locked?  New comers would still be able to view and read the posts yet unable to post on them. If a person feels they have something new to contribute to a necro topic, they could always begin a new thread?

-Newbie forum (New to the Lifestyle?)
-A Rant/Vent section. If a thread gets bogged down with a couple or few people going on and on (off topic)....take it to the Vent room or start a thread there
-Donations, not paying members. I'd donate today. The free access to all features makes this place more enjoyable to come to.
-Split humor and games.

-Making so many posts before starting a thread. See the above statement about free access to all features.

-Stickeys. Archives and Best of would get my vote before stickys.

wish list (hey one can dream right? :):
-One smartass comment per post..not personal attack, smartass...there's a difference....then to topic
-Summarizing at end or beginning of post. Some people like to read longer postings, some do not, though the ones that hit on specific quotes one at a time i find functional and useful. This would work for both types.

And how exactly do you propose the site administration make changes to the forum to ensure that happens?

That is the purpose of this thread, to discuss changes the administration can make, not just empty platitudes on how everybody could behave in a manner more consistent with your wishes.

oh? I have yet to see a button at the top of, say, casual banter that indicates I can mark the entire forum read. Right now, I have to mark each subset (off topic, humor and games, etc) as read.
