There has been some confusion on this thread and I will apologize for it. I did not tell the mods not to treat this as any other thread. However, I find it ironic that 20% of this now unmoderated thread are approximately 3 people "going at it", on this thread on how to improve the forums, where in other posts members are talking about the need to not bash each other.The next few pages possibly because of the derailment have nothing to do with improving the forums. Anyone else see the irony?

As to the moderators posting, I will say as I said before, all the other moderators have regular accounts they post under. On those threads that they post on they do not moderate on the same thread. I do not post under my regular nick. I DID post ALOT. That is my choice, to try to keep the accusations of moderators moderating on the same threads they post on. I might be wrong, but I am well aware that I am held to a higher standard than my moderators(even though they behave ethically even though they post) To those that do not agree with it, I will only say, I try to temper what I say, I will joke and such, I do not post at all like I did when I was posting as a member.

Now back to this thread, there have been some really good ideas, although it's been a few pages since anything has even been mentioned about the forums. Are there any other ideas?

Most of it.......I am totally cool with leaving it as it is. Although I really do miss the 'random stupidity' and I still think/see it that way.

I actually rather like the thought of a newbie section that is heavily moderated to avoid them getting too beat up and bloody at our amusement. Sometimes the fact that a person is new gets lost in the foray. I try to be a little more gentle with a new person IF they aren't being an obvious putz, but all too often, with the youts, my patience is too thin. There are some real sweethearts around here that have the patience of a saint......I ain't one of them. I would probably do a lot of avoiding a section devoted to the newish individuals and let the saints tackle the 'you've got to be kidding' inducing stuff.

Not really, open a window of Explorer and log in under one account, then open a window of Firefox and log in under a different account. We do it all the time, that's how we can have all three accounts signed in on the laptop in the bedroom.

My suggestion: Can something be done about the little scroller thing. Somedays every time I click on something the page starts opening then it hangs for 4 or 5 minutes with the bottom of the window reading "Connecting to scroller.collarchat.com" then "Waiting for scroller.collarchat.com" . And when the page finally loads the scroller is blank. It doesn't happen all the time, but I wish we could get rid of it or at least hide it so it wouldn't hang me up like that. I end up playing Solitaire waiting for each page to open.

In a nutshell:Better Communication. Mods on the forum and the rest of whomever falls under "Support" should work more effectively together to solve problems that affect the forum but are better solved off the forum.

The same one that has been howling around for quite a while, and that is the 'Fetlife' deal.

They have a much better event calendar. Other than that, Fet sucks (IMNSHO). I would like to see some bang up whiz gizmo event calendar. Even if that means that there has to be a submission que.

I would like to see some cleverer search parameters (and ja I am an asshole) I mean in the frontspiece, I would like to see a multi selection radio button so I can see US, Canada, and say England......slaves, or submissives broke out (so all parms by multiselect radios)

And FFS. I am so glad that you dont wipe the text anymore when you throw up the too fast posting message (but I would like to see that work different) maybe if in the session you get over throttle you could throw up a screen like the non computer readable you must type this in box, and then allow (in that session) a faster posting rate. Say, bundle in 5s.

Also the wildcard for names working would be good.

I always misspell TheHeritic so--- lets say I am looking for StupidCunt78654 and I don't remember the crap so I look for StupidCun% and I get the like fuzzy search.

Tags would be good. one could search tags. That is, milking, what if you are looking for prostate milking or lactation, in alot of cases, it may not be mentioned specifically every post.

So, lets say I look for mnottertail is a funny motherfucker (which besides being true.....) the typical bdsm nametags would be searchable.........slave, submissive, lactation, penis, bastinado, stuff like that.

I'm not sure a "newbie" forum would eliminate some of the newbie bashing that goes on, unless of course it was moderated more heavily. But I think it could potentially cause some confusion in that you'd have "Ask A ____" over here and then related "Ask A ____" topics in the newb section. Probably not a big deal but just a thought.

The option to pay is fine. To pay and receive more services for it...not so fine.

I like the Fast Reply idea that's been mentioned.

I don't like the deal where you can't make two posts before a certain time frame, but I understand it.

I realize I'm probably in the minority, but I think personal attacks should be moderated more strongly (and I'm not talking about in P&R). It used to be that a person would be moderated for even saying "Fuck you" to someone. I can live with fuck you's here and there but some of the personal attacks can get pretty vile and personal, and (from experience) reporting them hasn't removed them. I don't report anymore for that reason, which I'm sure is just fine with some folks lol.

The "Awaiting Approval" deal is kind of annoying. I've gone back to threads because I was actually interested in what the person said, only to find, weeks later, the "Awaiting Approval" still up. I think at that point, just put them on a time-out for a period of time, rather than "Awaiting."

I think threads that are derailed due to two or more people snarking back and forth at each other should be trimmed of the snark-fest. That sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't.

I like the idea of hiding threads. I'll avoid threads that turn into an attack/snark fest, and it would be easier to filter them out if they were simply hidden.
