So, you would agree then that there was nothing wrong with Mr. Hoffa's recent comments since politicians from both ends of the American political spectrum make similar comments?

Status: offline 		If you're going to claim that Bachmann's comment was acceptable because the Kenyan once used a metaphor that could be interpreted as a threat, won't that cause a few problems with your tone of wounded holier than thou the next time you start whining like a schoolgirl about something the Kenyan says?

Status: offline 		  This level of violent rhetoric has been around since the ratification of our constitution.  I say, so what,  big deal,  whoop-dee-doo.  The only issue I have is the hypocrisy of the left complaining about it and then ingoing their own use of the same type of rhetoric and bitchin about it when they're called on it by the right.

I have a suggestion. How about we put all the politicians in one place and let them bring their weapon of choice? Since they're all such bad asses.

Well maybe but that depends on why he posted that. It seems to me he was pointing out hypocrisy since his post followed a lefties post bitchin about violent rhetoric on the right.

I like the idea too. This would effectively wipe out the liberals.

Even though Obama says he would bring a gun I don't believe him and I don't believe conservatives would only bring knives.

Actually, the think the quote was more like: "If they bring a gun to the fight, you don't want to have a knife". I worked on Obama's '08 campaign I know most everything he had said.

Here's someone who wants to be seen as s-e-r-i-o-u-s about guns and using them. So it might be a little more than just another of bit absurd looney Right hypocrisy ......

Status: offline 		Just an FYI folks, the Boston Herald is akin to a tabloid in journalistic quality. It is read mostly by the uneducated in the greater Boston, MA region (verse say, the Boston Globe which is read by more educated folks). There have been many very sensationalized stories that are weak on facts and heavily on half-truths (uneducated folks dont verify information to often). Is that correct with regards to this story and thread? Judging by the number of posters, I would have to say the article did exactly what it was indended to acomplish: shock the reader to burst out a reply based on deep emotional 'gut' viewpoint rather than to ponder the source of the information. While my dislike for Rep. Bachmann is known on these forums, even I'm weary to trust the Boston Hearld on ANYTHING unless the information can be independently verified from other sources.

I formed my opinion of Michele Bachmann from an interview she did on Hardball, as well as seeing her in various news stories on t.v., so my view was shaped long before seeing this article.
