ORIGINAL: Epytropos I find it interesting that if someone only likes tall partners, that's completely fine, and if someone prefers blondes, no worries, and if they're only attracted to members of a certain race that's mostly fine as well, but the minute someone has a preference for weight they're closed-minded. If anything weight should be the one most acceptable to choose based on since it is, by and large, something people can control. No one chooses to be born with blue eyes or pale skin or whatever, but their weight is something which is entirely up to them. I'm not necessarily endorsing the original intent of the thread, since I tend to think if you don't like a certain sort of person you simply filter them from your results and move on rather than making a thread about it, but there seems to be this general idea that preferring a certain weight makes you shallow and I just don't get that. The problem here is that people don't just come in here matter-of-factly stating that they prefer tall people, or non-smokers, or blondes, etc. and leave it at that. No, they come in all outraged because there are fat people polluting their fish pond, and omg, it's unhealthy to be fat!!! When was the last time someone started a thread about prefering short people because tall people run the unhealthy risk of having their head chopped off by low-hanging ceiling fans? Or seriously, that they prefer non-smokers because smoking is unhealthy? I don't remember EVER seeing someone introduce themselves and say they prefer non-smokers because smoking is unhealthy. No, sorry, it's just another fat-rant. No, people don't introduce themselves by stating what their preferences are, some just feel the need to come in and tell everyone that they don't like fat people because they don't have anything else to talk about. And you can bet that if someone leans seductively on the Porsche and says, "Hey hot stuff, I've got herniated discs, GERD and a nasty case of athlete's foot, wanna bang me?" he ain't gonna say, "Oh dear, no, you're not healthy."
