Interesting. I've never thought in terms of a narcissistic versus a sociopathic spectrum. I thought that one of the defining features of psychopaths (if not sociopaths) was a level of narcissism?

I've known people who've been both cold and mad, certainly. But 'bonkers' - as in going off in tempers, smashing things up, getting generally emotional? Nah, I'm used to that. Two words: my family. I've decades of practice at dealing with it. It's the devil I know

. . . And, speaking of devils, I'd rather one of them than than a saint, any day.

I think it is a very personal thing.

Apparently in some cases one's choice of  spiritual path can be enough to make someone decide one is too "bat shit crazy" to be dealt with.

Even if said spiritual path is well established, although admittedly not mainstream.

(Simply Pagan with a bit of Shamanism thrown in...we aren't talking cult here.)

Not sure who this is directed to - dominant women interested in other women, submissives interested in dominant women, or people just interested in women in general, but for me it all depends on your definition of batshit crazy.

Quirky, unpredictable and spontaneous at times, a little weird, a little self-destructive, a little depressed (in an artsy, empathic, reflecting on life and the world sort of way), wild at times, a little intimidating - yes, in fact I would need some of those characteristics in her just to be compatible.

Running around the streets with an oversized butterfly net screaming at people - not so much. I have enough trouble keeping my own shit together to deal with anything too over the top.

Obviously, the more she pushes my buttons the more leeway (perhaps if she has a small butterfly net). I would say, however, that I avoid anyone who perpetually seeks major confrontation and drama. It is just too draining.

You know how women are always going on about how they want men to be gentlemen? How, even after all these many years of feminism, they still reserve the right to say 'Man up!' occasionally, and assume that means something that should hit the spot? Things to do with being honourable and courageous; 'strong', albeit in some sense that isn't necessarily to do with brute physical strength?

Well, I'm that way with women and coldness. 'Coldness', for me, is eternally and intrinsically unfeminine, and as far as I'm concerned a woman who is cold, hard and uncaring should 'woman up'. The first and most essential thing a female partner will do for me is *care* for me.
