tazzygirl -> RE: When in doubt, invent a new kind of racism (9/24/2011 10:09:52 PM)

Maybe Im just tired... but that makes no sense to me.

TheHeretic -> RE: When in doubt, invent a new kind of racism (9/24/2011 10:22:11 PM)

Hardly my new beacon, Skippy.  Miss the part where I pointed out the gaping hole in her argument?

Will it be a racist act if you should get a moment of clarity, and understand that a second term with this administration is a course straight into the rocks?  I have no idea, but she seems ready to slap the label down.

tazzygirl -> RE: When in doubt, invent a new kind of racism (9/24/2011 10:26:49 PM)

So, If I voted for Obama then, and decide to vote for anyone else now, I am a racist?

Her article IMPLIES  (I mean, I'm skipping the whole Alan Keyes mess because it's completely irrelevant unless you presume she's racist by presuming that because white's SUPPOSEDLY avoided voting or were selective in Illinois, that all white liberals are going to do the same thing everywhere, which would necessitate her placing me for instance, a voter from another region she has no comparable measure, into a category that'd have name something akin to "whitey". And Since I have many times now been in a voting situation with both blacks and whites and haven't fit her model... I gotta presume she's probably not right about that premise applying to anything but a small regional demographic.
So what's left is her saying white liberals who voted for Obama in 2008 hold Obama to a higher standard and will therefore bail on him in 2012. And her 'proof' is that we didn't do so in the Clinton years. Which is fucking nonsense I remember SOME guys bailing cause their WIVES told them. I referred to them as PUSSIES. But whatever, there is no material relationship. And there is nearly a decade of maturing that has occurred since Clinton and there fore you can't very easily say the key difference is race. The key difference could also be the age of the liberal voting in both instances. So that;s kinda shit too.
So we're left with disconnected clusters of voters who MIGHT have a criticism big enough on VARIOUS not necessarily related issues. The final assertion is that if a voter who voted Obama before isn't behind him now and declaring his future vote on Obam's behalf, he's a racist.
And since a person of political consciousness USUALLY VOTES and the other choice is obviously republican (I refuse to buy someone's offering the idea of voting green, or nader or something... that's shit and they know it)... Nah they'd switch to the GOP candidate or not vote. Not voting in a very close election is really voting for the GOP candidate in essence.. Were I that person, I would then be casting the same vote as say Heretic, and by Melissa's formula, I would then be a racist.
It;s the old Frank Zappa "They say that god created man in his own image. So if we're dumb, maybe god's dumb too" argument applied to politics.
That clear it up a little better Tazzy?[:D]

TheHeretic -> RE: When in doubt, invent a new kind of racism (9/24/2011 10:38:40 PM)

It says what it says, Tazzy.  Personally, I think it is as much bullshit as most of the politicized charges of racism that get flung, but found the shifting of the crosshairs to be worthy of note.

How could I miss your insightful prose?

I just thought a 'quaint', nutshell explanation. But then I had to write out the math longhand for Tazzy who's apparently not as post-like as our esteemed californian is in terms of take on this article.... She wanted a rational explanation.

The videos were just for laughs[:D]

Well, it would probably have to be a white candidate to boot as well, but yeah. She's a fucking kook... and not that great a columnist.

tazzygirl -> RE: When in doubt, invent a new kind of racism (9/24/2011 10:45:53 PM)

Umm.. didnt voters bail on Clinton because of his lying?

Im not connecting this very well. There is no basis for her assumption as far as I can tell. First black President makes it hard to set a precedent for racism in that context.

This one is more nuts than the rest.

"higher standard" lmao.

If the standards for booting this clown were any lower than where things are then we could be in 4 wars, owe $20 trillion, have real unemployment in the 30% range and inflation in the teens. Would it be racist then?

fucking idiot.

Which fucking idiot got us into two of those wars Mr. Economic Genius?

And did I miss something here? Where is the fourth war?

For that matter where is the third? We have a limited involvement in Libya and haven't lost a single American life.

And explain to me Mr. Economic Genius how we have "real" unemployment in the 30% range and inflation in the low teens.

Real economists who actually are credentialed don't seem to agree with you.

But I'll give you a chance to save face Willbeur, post some proof.

But you never do that, so I won't hold my breath. You just spit out nonsense constantly with nothing to back it.

Among the few .... and I mean FEW people there were two guys who bailed because they said "he lied/cheated" but having attended HS with these people I knew their wives were beating them up on the issue. And the other three guys were single, kinda hippies and they thought he was a centrist and that to them was "selling out"
But in NO way can I find ANY water that holds in her argument.

Psssst... the operative phrase in his post was "could be".

Not to worry, you'll get better. Work on this for a while: Fun with Dick and Jane

I saw that in the news too, about white democrats beginning to abandon Oblunder.

mons -> RE: When in doubt, invent a new kind of racism (9/25/2011 3:03:57 AM)

I found out to keep friends one should not ever speak of policates! But here I go
I have never seen a President so disrespect as President Obama!  I have seen
things i thought I would not ever see, oh yes they have been jokes about all of the
Presidents!  But when he was first in office I never saw so many news people call 'him President
but Mr Obama!  It is indeed for some a scary thing to have a sitting African Anerican as a President!
Do I say it is racist, no but I called it a shock that people have not over come, it sticks them in the
belly and wow , the birther I thought someone was playing a joke, but even Pat Boone is now
saying all kinds of things , it is truly a shame to be treated as another alien from another place!
I hd respect for all of them, no matter what, I wish people can see away out of this mess, oh they will
vote for someone , even if this person is bad as long as Obama is not there!  What a mess we have in this contury we have !!!!

Mons

Neither party came out of Clinton's escapades smelling like roses. Democrats came across as sleazy and Republicans as petty and anal. There was no huge rush away from Clinton among voters though, not that I saw anyway. By the time 2000 rolled around, the country was evenly split. Bush and Gore were downright polite to each other in the debates.

Kinda like a signpost on the road of history, one that marks the last high point in civility.

As for this article, it seems early in the game to start whitewashing people as racist depending on which way they might vote. Maybe that's just the forerunner to what will come though, as those most enamored try their damndest to find a way to take the bulls eye off the economy.

Or do you feel that this President should get a different set of rules, because he has a different color of skin?

Yep. Which is what the article discussed as well. It matters not the reason why a person chooses something. It only matters what the color of the skin is.

Maybe mons should have used unfounded disrespect.

bush earned his one body bag at a time, one foreclosure at a time, one failed bank at a time.
