Maybe Im just tired... but that makes no sense to me. Her article IMPLIES (I mean, I'm skipping the whole Alan Keyes mess because it's completely irrelevant unless you presume she's racist by presuming that because white's SUPPOSEDLY avoided voting or were selective in Illinois, that all white liberals are going to do the same thing everywhere, which would necessitate her placing me for instance, a voter from another region she has no comparable measure, into a category that'd have name something akin to "whitey". And Since I have many times now been in a voting situation with both blacks and whites and haven't fit her model... I gotta presume she's probably not right about that premise applying to anything but a small regional demographic. So what's left is her saying white liberals who voted for Obama in 2008 hold Obama to a higher standard and will therefore bail on him in 2012. And her 'proof' is that we didn't do so in the Clinton years. Which is fucking nonsense I remember SOME guys bailing cause their WIVES told them. I referred to them as PUSSIES. But whatever, there is no material relationship. And there is nearly a decade of maturing that has occurred since Clinton and there fore you can't very easily say the key difference is race. The key difference could also be the age of the liberal voting in both instances. So that;s kinda shit too. So we're left with disconnected clusters of voters who MIGHT have a criticism big enough on VARIOUS not necessarily related issues. The final assertion is that if a voter who voted Obama before isn't behind him now and declaring his future vote on Obam's behalf, he's a racist. And since a person of political consciousness USUALLY VOTES and the other choice is obviously republican (I refuse to buy someone's offering the idea of voting green, or nader or something... that's shit and they know it)... Nah they'd switch to the GOP candidate or not vote. Not voting in a very close election is really voting for the GOP candidate in essence.. Were I that person, I would then be casting the same vote as say Heretic, and by Melissa's formula, I would then be a racist. It;s the old Frank Zappa "They say that god created man in his own image. So if we're dumb, maybe god's dumb too" argument applied to politics. That clear it up a little better Tazzy?[:D]
