"higher standard" lmao.

If the standards for booting this clown were any lower than where things are then we could be in 4 wars, owe $20 trillion, have real unemployment in the 30% range and inflation in the teens. Would it be racist then?

fucking idiot.

Which fucking idiot got us into two of those wars Mr. Economic Genius?

And did I miss something here? Where is the fourth war?

For that matter where is the third? We have a limited involvement in Libya and haven't lost a single American life.

And explain to me Mr. Economic Genius how we have "real" unemployment in the 30% range and inflation in the low teens.

Real economists who actually are credentialed don't seem to agree with you.

But I'll give you a chance to save face Willbeur, post some proof.

But you never do that, so I won't hold my breath. You just spit out nonsense constantly with nothing to back it.

What part of "IF.....COULD BE" dont you understand?

I found out to keep friends one should not ever speak of policates! But here I go
I have never seen a President so disrespect as President Obama!  I have seen
things i thought I would not ever see, oh yes they have been jokes about all of the
Presidents!  But when he was first in office I never saw so many news people call 'him President
but Mr Obama!  It is indeed for some a scary thing to have a sitting African Anerican as a President!
Do I say it is racist, no but I called it a shock that people have not over come, it sticks them in the
belly and wow , the birther I thought someone was playing a joke, but even Pat Boone is now
saying all kinds of things , it is truly a shame to be treated as another alien from another place!
I hd respect for all of them, no matter what, I wish people can see away out of this mess, oh they will
vote for someone , even if this person is bad as long as Obama is not there!  What a mess we have in this contury we have !!!!

Mons

Sigghhhh. It has nothing to do with President Obama. It is STANDARD in news to refer to the President as Mr. Surname in the second and later references. There is a whole thread on it. The nature of criticism for MR. OBAMA is no different than GWB, in fact it is more subdued by journalists due to fear of being labeled racist.

Listen all I know is that a guy who is a conservative posted an article here that says basically, if I change my vote away from Obama and vote with him, I'm a racist... and than CONCERNS ME.

Scary for who?

I was addressing a very poorly written article placed here to create faux controversy. B8ut seriously, what does the above line mean?

Neither party came out of Clinton's escapades smelling like roses. Democrats came across as sleazy and Republicans as petty and anal. There was no huge rush away from Clinton among voters though, not that I saw anyway

Oh please, if anything I was very clearly pointing to how minute and ludicrous the walk-aways from Clinton were. Perhaps I should have framed it with some colorful memory I have of those individuals... like how in the wee hours of graduation day they were and the bottom of the 4 story auditorium facing commencement field as  I scaled it with a 55 Gallon Drum painted as an exact replica as a can of Miller Highlife in tow. They were the guy at the bottom who were supposed to hoist up the bags of cement and jugs of water, saying "It's awfully high, you sure we won't get hurt?".

That put it in perspective for ya?

The SALIENT POINT is that it was PISS POOR political science to even invoke the Clinton Presidency. The rest was anecdotal.

Concerns you how?  Do you think that if someone attributes your motivation in a decision to hidden racism, that makes it true?  That would be the sting of liberal guilt, then.

Concerns you in the sense that this sort of polarization and demonization doesn't sound much like the post-partisan, post-racial, Hope and Change dream that the President capitalized on to win the office?

In the sense that baseless charges of racism are only fair when flung towards the right?

I'd like to think that it concerns you as an indicator of just how ugly the Obama '12 campaign is going to be, and that being vaguely threatened to keep your ass in line doesn't sit well.

Uhhhh, it was a liberal who wrote the article and it was posted because of how off base it is. Heretic's being conservative has nothing to do with it. It could just as easily have been posted by one of the View girls with a "see, I told you all whites are racist".

You're losing me... does this mean you want me to vote against you after all?

I have no guilt now. But the article you posted indicated I will, IF I change my mind.

Think of it as an "Inception" article, planting the idea that you will feel guilty if you change your mind, when without the Inception you wouldnt have.

I'm not running for anything, Skippy, and should I decide to go after a local advisory committee seat, you wouldn't be in my district, anyway.

I hope you'll vote in accordance your conscience, and your honest appraisal of what is going to be best for the country.  If you are so concerned about who you might be siding with in that choice, perhaps you'll consider that you are currently sharing space with a woman who is fully prepared to label you as a racist, if you dare to think you might have been sold a bill of goods last time around.

Its a yawn because I don't think, when push comes to shove, that democrats will abandon Obama in favor of the GOP candidate come election day--which is all that really matters.

It's not about democrats. It's about independents. Neither democrats nor republicans elect presidents. Independent voters do, and they are abandoning him at a rapid rate.

Whether they'll actually vote for a Republican is another story. I haven't seen one I'd like to vote for yet. Then again, the for vote may end up being eclipsed by the against vote.

From what I have seen, especially on this board, there are very few actual Independents.

Especially here, we have a lot of conservative Republicans who like to call themselves that but it doesn't hold up.

They constantly bash Democrats and liberals while supporting conservative viewpoints.

How is that being an Independent?

Sound familiar?

It's a fancy word for a widely believed fantasy that becomes part of the culture.
Quite appropriate in the context given...

You know I meant as opposed to 'with you' as opposed to for you.
And dude... it's all just good clean American political fun. Looj at it this way... if this was Columbia, we'd be exploding each other's vehicles for laughs.

I presumed that's the spirit you originally posted the thread in.

Interesting conspiracy theory.. [:D]

Any idea why so many Conservatives would choose to 'falsely' identify thenselves as Independents?

Now I'm getting concerned, Skippy.  Have you somehow missed the barrage of racism shrieks directed at the Tea Party movement, and Republicans in general?

That's because this board leans so far left it doesn't know what centrist is.

I've voted republican once in the last 20 years. How about you?
