MasterJaguar01 -> RE: Feminism Has Made Women Too Masculine (9/25/2011 9:30:01 AM)

OK.... As someone who exclusively posts on the political board, I am a newbie here. First of all, I would argue that some aspects of feminism have done a disservice to both genders, while some aspects have been a great benefit. On one hand, women have a lot to contribute intellectually, academically, emotionally, culturally, and many other ways (to society), and were often barred from doing so by societal norms. Feminism has made a very positive change in this area. On the other hand, I believe the concept that, in general, men and women are not only equal, but possess the same capabilities is very flawed and harmful to both genders. I believe men are naturally wired to be leaders of the household. Anecdotally, I can say that I have observed that when intelligent, responsible men take a leadership role in the household (with or without children), that household (marriage/family has been happy, prosperous and successful). When that does not occur, the household falls apart. (Even, when the woman is extremely intelligent and responsible) My .02: I believe that men (in general... there are ALWAYS exceptions) are at their best when they can effectively lead, and women are at their best (in a marriage/family) when they can tactically support a man who they trust to lead them.
