kevin

SadisticMs2 -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 1:39:16 PM)

You're not complementing anyone by prattling on about your fetishes. You're just being socially inept yet again.

SadisticMs2 -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 1:41:22 PM)

I tend to use the term "pet" as a term of endearment much like "dear" with someone I'm close to. I've had interesting reactions to it - some love it, some hate it (I will refrain from using it then), and one it sent right into subspace.

myotherself -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 1:49:58 PM)

Where I'm from in the UK, the local term of endearment is 'pet'. You'd fit in well here! [:D]

lobodomslavery -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 1:58:28 PM)

How do you define socially inept. So have you suddenly hit on the incontrovertible guide to social skills? Did nt think so. Why do You feel such an inclination to criticise others. Keep your nasty comments to Yourself

Hope you don't mind my answering here Miss Hibbie - if you do, you can beat me.

I love being called girl by my owner (when I have one) and "good girl" makes me melt and has quite the effect on my lower parts. <grins> Anyone else who calls me girl will get a raised eyebrow to say the least.

Madame4a -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 2:07:57 PM)

hmmm.... I use good boy a lot.. more often than not, most of the submissive-ish friends that I have, and my boi of course... are boys.. therefore its a compliment... I do use it a lot.

If you would prefer not to be criticized for your comments you make on a public board....don't make them. Very very simple.

And that's where I picked it up. Spent a couple years living in England many moons ago.

I've always preferred pet to good boy, with good boy I always feel acutely embarassed, and tends to make me feel rather silly, partly as i would normally be crossdressed, and partly as I'm an adult...though I expect some have a similar reaction to pet.

I can imagine "good boy" being used in humiliation from that perspective, and I've known a cd age-player that loves good girl, sends them right into that space.

MissToYouRedux -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 4:19:25 PM)

I'm big on objectification and consider my submissive, more often than not, my toy or pet (among other things.) So if I say, "Good boy!" it's a result of my inner two year old's delight with her adorable puppy or pony and in that pet owner tone, and really has nothing to do with intent to belittle an adult male. And yes, I've been told that doesn't make it any less humiliating [:D] , but it's still not the intent.

On the other hand, when my sub's serving as my cabana boy, he's my "cute thing", [8D] and I never call him "boy".

ourmsbetty -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 4:38:41 PM)

I use "good boy" all the time....

In fact I have a favorite fella who's catch phrase is "I'm a very good boy, but I'm a very naughty bunny."

Mine seem to particularly like it when it's given as praise after they've endured a challenging scene or task.

Or figured out one of my little mental challenges....

Aileen1968 -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 5:45:24 PM)

I don't think the terms "good boy" or "good girl" are condescending at all.
To me, it's a great way to show appreciation.
I love hearing good girl. It means this very busy man has noticed something I did and is saying thank you.
It means he approves and expresses it in a way that is very personal and above and beyond how he would say thank you to a friend, acquaintance or business associate.

thishereboi -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 6:12:37 PM)

awww, thanks. You are pretty special yourself[:)]

Genobee -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 7:10:33 PM)

Well, to me personally it would be well received.
It's a line that would make me feel under the girl saying it while at the same time it would show me praise for my efforts in serving her.

It's somewhat important to me that the person I'm with understands her superiority even though she may love me as an equal. x3
It seems odd to me that it isn't more popular in the femdom side of the S&M community to love each other equally while both knowing the female is the superior gender.
Of course, I personally consider S&M as a way of life rather than a means for a kinky experience..
