My womans income is in the six figures, her bonus is almost equal to my income.

Besides, plenty of people who have money cant handle it and others have far less and live much more fulfilling lives.

I haven't read this whole thread all the way through, but I find the concept of money=dominant pretty amusing.

When I was Topping fairly regularly, I had a few fairly regular bottoms to work with. They were all high powered individuals. One was a politician who liked to be a puppy, another was a news anchor, who liked to wear diapers (I never indulged that particular fetish) and one was so wealthy there is a major city with a huge library named for his family. In fact, most of the other guys I Topped were CEO's, CFO's etc. They were good at what they did, I guess, but they weren't inherently dominant. They craved submission.

That's the other half of the equation that the op can't see. That someone who spends 12 hours a day running things doesn't want to go home and have to do it all over again. They want a break, and they deserve it.

My father, now retired CEO, never wanted to make any decision harder than what restaurant to go to. His wives or kids when divorced ran the house and the staff. As long as his wishes were catered to, he didn't give a damn who was invited to dinner or what the cook made. He didn't want to hear about problems with plumbing, just call the maintenance company and have the bill sent to his secretary. He worked 9 hours a day at the office and spent several more hours at home on the phone dealing with business.

If he had to run the household also, he would have burned out in no time.

Not important. What matters is if they put some effort into whatever they do, whether it's flipping burgers or running a company. i can't abide people who are lazy or apathetic about their work. And i missed out on a great guy once because He didn't fit the expectation i had at the time of what Dominants acted like in real life. Silly me.

this is specious. why would you assume soldiers are "more dominant" than ceos?

I don't assume anything, that's your mistake not mine.

That's only the third most ignorant thing I've seen posted on these boards regarding the military. Everyone has to do what someone else says when it comes to a proffession, even the President, there would be chaos otherwise.

Sgt. Meyer and SSGT Chavez would disagree with your assessment of the enlisted :

I will admit that I prefer to be have a strong, powerful, alpha male figure in my life. I crave a man who is successful in his personal and professional life. However, salary is not a measure of success. Social status is not a measure of success. Someone who is satisfied with their career choice and happy doing it is successful to me. Someone who has a good personality and relationships with others is successful to me. A man with integrity, compassion, and a sense of humor are traits that are more important to me than bank account balance.

My daughter's boyfriend is a soldier here in the UK, from Ghana. He does the job he enlisted for with diligence and responsibility.

He also will not stand for an undue amount of nonsense. He knows what he wants and isn't afraid to make a stand, even if it will make him unhappy.

He is softly spoken, kind and incredibly thoughtful. Of course he has to *jump* when he's on duty at work.....he is his own man outside of that.

M has a boss and a boss above his boss.......he is still his own man.

Being all powerful isn't sexy.....being your own man is( or being your own girl :-)).

That goes back to an old thread I responded to a while back, in wich I said that women were naturally attracted to confidence. I believe confidence, and not arrogance, is one of the most powerfull stimulants for attraction.

Case in point, there was this thread over in the OT section about some guy on x factor that looked like a street hobo. He had confidence though, and as soon as he started singing all the girls who were all wrinkling thier noses at him were ready to throw thier bras and panties on stage.

well when i say "beta" i mean more laid back, and more likely to just let things pass instead of trying to control every situation. like an alpha is a total type a all the time. always has to have the upper hand. always on the offensive. a beta guy is sometimes a little bit spineless. settles for things instead of going after what he really wants. both kinds of guys call themselves doms, i'm just curious if anybody really prefers the second type or if anybody with a beta is pretty much looking to upgrade.

the question i was asking about money and status was a separate but related question. you can have alpha guys who work as mechanics because that's their skill set and what they like, and beta guys who run law firms because the firm has been passed down from their great great grandfather.

this is where it gets interesting. are subs attracted to money? to power? or are they attracted to force of personality even if the guy with the strongest personality isn't always the guy with the highest status?

Well according to your schema here alpha men would turn me off. It seems as though they feel like they always have something to prove. I like men that know what they have and it is a quite power within themselves. So beta with no desire to "upgrade" Money plays no part for me with power. So for me i guess it is force of personality. I would rather he work at mc chokeandpuke and have that inner personality than be a CEO and lack it.

I don't know anyone sane who needs to control everything 24/7. People who know what matters to them and are laid back about the rest within parameters are much healthier people to be with.

What I can tell you is that The Man is an alpha. People respond to him, follow his lead, obey his dictates, turn to him for help. I've always said that the teens here love me, but don't jump when I talk. They're in the air before he says how high to go. Hell even our last dog was like that. Laid by my feet, wanted to be with me, but obeyed instantly when The Man said something.

In his down time, he's hardly spineless. He's patient and calm and enjoys other stuff. And he's a pushover for his grandkids.

soldiers are expected to be physically fit, capable of inflicting violence, and perfectly willing to follow whatever order they are given by a superior. they are tools for the purpose of warfare and protecting property and empires. there is nothing "dominant" about a soldier's role as soldier. a ceo is expected to make creative decisions, to give order, and to put her own visions into practice. that is what it means to be dominant.
