Ok, small stupid question:

Why do some people look so unhappy in their profile photos? After looking though profiles...I don't think I want to try this lifestyle any more...it looks boring and depressing. :(

Sorry to hear that. Most (but not all) of my experiences have been very happy ones and far from boring. How long have you been involved with it?

If being involved in this doesn't speak to you, then I would agree you should not engage in it. But I have to wonder what drew you here to begin with.

OP, if something about YOUR life is seriously depressing you, or if you are bored, then do what needs to be done to change it. Whatever shit random 'other' people have going on.........that is their problem.

Bored and depressed (unless clinical and requiring treatment and even then...) is a CHOICE! I make the choice to be neither.

I'd say that some of the dom types think that not smiling makes them look more dom-like. (it doesn't, but...you know...)

But if your experiences have all been boring and unhappy, I agree, it's probably not a good fit for you.

Ha, ha!!! You're right! I just realized...lots of them have these uber-serious looks...and notice how the angle of the camera is often looking up at the dom in question? Funny! :D

That reminds me of something else. While it isn't always the case, I've found a fairly good rule of thumb is the member's name. If it contains "Sir" or "Master" or "Dom" or "Daddy" or any of the equivalents, I usually find them to be uh...perhaps more involved in the fantasy aspect than the reality aspect of things...if you get my drift. ;)

I do usually get a chuckle at the Domly photos, all serious, arms crossed, scowling, etc. It's like they've been asked to play a part. My experiences have not been so awful, sorry that you haven't had much fun- maybe it's time to hang it up for you then? Not sure I'd stick with something that wasn't fun.
