It had to happen - it was just a matter of time: New York Daily News quote:
Williams, on his website, said he pulled the plug on his theme. "After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision. By pulling my opening Oct. 3, you (ESPN) stepped on the Toes of The 1st Amendment Freedom of Speech," Williams wrote. "So therefore Me, My Song and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE. It's been a great run." "1st Amendment Freedom of Speech?" Apparently, Mr. Williams has never taken the time to read the 1st Amendment (or to have someone who can read, read it to him). The 1st Amendment is actually not that complicated. It can be read from start to finish in about 10 seconds. It bars the Government from abridging free speech rights. It doesn't have anything to do with whether private individuals or corporations can bar you from their privately-owned television show because they don't like what you've said. Just another example of a Tea Party-type "Real Patriotic American" who really doesn't know what our Constitution actually says.
