Status: offline 		A while back, on the other side of CM, I was corresponding with a man via c-mail. During that same time, I was also occasionally corresponding with another few men. These were all more on the innocent side of getting to know someone - nothing too heavy in any of these messages.

As a little bit of time went by (not long), this man told me that one of the other profiles I was corresponding with a bit was him, also. This second profile was not one that I talked too much with...but...enough so that some of the same questions were asked, etc.

Obviously, I guess he did that to find out if I was a fake or lying. And of course, I wasn't lying about anything so all answers, I suppose, lined up for him.

But now...I have that experience stuck in my head, and I guess I might be slightly paranoid. Not that I care so very much, because all answers/approaches would be the same no matter what. But...I just hate being found to be foolish, and I would feel so foolish if I were emailing someone who was only pretending to be that person so he could check up on what I was telling him through another profile.

Do I have reason to be concerned? Is this something that you have done as a way to verify that a prospective submissive isn't nuts? Should I drop it and not be concerned?

Funny how that one experience from years ago has so affected me.

That just one of the many pitfalls of online. ehh Ive said it countless times so here goes one more. Turn off the CPU and go out... I can guarantee that what you described will never happen nor the other stupid shit that befalls ppl who do online dating. My actual weight is... My actual age is .... My personal fav...Actually I'm a guy.

With that said some ppl are gluttons for punishment and even after this crap happens to them numerious times.. you still see them online doing the same stupid shit.

Status: offline 		Just to let you know... I run across people with socks writing to me all the time.

One in particular comes to mind. - He would never admit it, but his writing style is the same, and he uses the same words and expressions.
He still stalks me to this day = but its been easier and easier for me to root him out and block him.

I wonder to this day - who the hell he is, why he is obsessed with me and what drives him to contact me over and over and over again. He's been doing it for YEARS now. I imagine him as some 40+ year old guy that lives in his mothers basement.

Fucking weirdos left and right. - sometimes feel like Im playing a game of dodgeball.

Status: offline 		I'd feel an immediate sense of distrust. If someone can lie to you about something to simple (and so creepy), what else can they lie to you about?

I had something similar. It was a guy I eventually met for coffee, and realised there was no way we were ever going to have a relationship. The chemistry just wasn't there in the slightest. So he created another profile and started chatting with me. It took a while to realise it was the same guy, and when I called him on his shit he said he did it to prove I was wrong and that we were meant to be together.

Too creepy for words.

I dunno, I pretty much figure every guy is lying to me about something. I have had a few guys that i thought were honest open my eyes on that. Some of the lies are so stupid and pointless. I had one guy tell me he was a model when he went to college as one of the pics he sent me was supposedly taken of him on a modeling gig. Except, imo he was too short to be a model and when i put his pics thru google images and tineye, well, the pic of was some other guy (with the website addys those pics were also on). I was very surprised about the pics cuz he sounded real and sincere. Only 2 of the many he sent might have been of him, we have not met so i dont even know that. For the life of me i dont know why he did that and told me various things that werent true. Now i question everything he told me.

How does someone find out if the person they are interested in is lying or not?

Everyone talking to me gets the same answers from me, that is if i dont block, delete on the first email cuz they say they like my profile but they arent listed in the whose viewed me page.. Thats usually the first lie, right outta the starting gate..

I am. Online is beginning to lose its appeal in a big way, now that I am much more seriously looking than before, when I wasn't quite sure I was ready to move on.

I am going to a munch this weekend. (Yikes - but that's for another thread, which there just was one like that, so I'll just pipe down.) I live outside of Boston - if I can't meet someone through getting a bit more into (or, a bit at all into) some of the groups there, then I suppose I'm not trying hard enough.

I usually consider myself somewhat online savvy but this was something I had honestly not come across before (thank goodness) and just wondered if it was something that was more common than just my one experience.

I guess not. :)

Status: offline 		sounds like an insecure man who probably would not trust you if you were in a relationship either. He simply was burned and can't get over it and so he now takes his insecurities out on everyone else.

I personally would not  have said anything to him, stopped talking to him and blocked him. Would not be worth a single ounce of effort otherwise on my part.
