The politician brave enough to say this in public and run on and act like he or she believes it is the one to pick.

Ie those with substantial Tea Party support, because they are the only ones who have acted consistently in that manner.

My issue with the Tea Party is the "me" mentality they possess.

Well let's see...

Tea Party = Less Spending/Balance the Budget... Less Gov. Involvement in our Lives... Constitutional Foundation for Legislation.

Occupy Assholes = Give me/us FREE FREE FREE stuff!!!  <--- Hint: the "me" mentality

Gawd, the Left are such stupid fucking idiots. [8|]

This coming from someone who has proven he has no idea what the hell he is talking about as [Mod note - link removed].

Shit-stirring again, and another childish attempt at attempting to incite.

Have you come to stalking now, Masta?  Following me around like a little boy, screaming "I wanna, I wanna, I wanna!" in three different threads now?

Grow up and maybe you can have an actual conversation and discussion with adult people.  Stop trying to play the sardonic gotcha games that you are playing, and maybe someone will take you seriously.

Yes because asking you clarify what you said is a gotcha tactic use by the liberal media. I m pointing out to people that your fake conservative that doesnt Know SHIT because you support Warren Buffett and George Soros liberal progressive agenda in destroying America.

Sam

I know where you're coming from. Trust me, in the babble of voices that float around in this mess, yours is one that I both listen to and think about. I like the fact that we can sit on different sides of an issue and not fall into the you're and idiot, well you're an asshole game. I like the fact there is reason and thought in what you say, because unlike some folks here, I can and do change my mind and don't consider myself a flip flopper, you know?

It's just that I've about reached the point where it's like... how do I know a politician is lying? Because his or her friggin mouth is open. I swear. I've seen too many spins, too many gotcha votes, too many twistings of positions, and way too many things sent across with hidden agendas driving them. I like the Tea Party. I like the OWS people. I like it when people take part in their government and notably, start holding the fuckers accountable because that's what we're going to have to do to take back some sense of control, both over those who would control us, and the future.

There are a lot of opinions here, many of them strong opinions and for the most part, good opinions. The fact that they differ reflects the atmosphere in the US, and really, the world. Funny thing too, like Tea Party and OWS.. them folks got some common ground, but I doubt they'll ever stand on it. One thing is for certain though, the only way they will is with reasonable voices floating among and between them, not with this finger-pointing, partisan hack stuff.

tazzygirl -> RE: Cain blames unemployed, audience laughs and cheers... (10/21/2011 3:48:50 PM)

Im annoying as fuck.... and yes, I am honest. Dont know about keeping the rest of you that way.

Frankly, politics are just pissing me off lately. Dont people get tired of the one side vs the other mentality? If something is wrong when one side does it, its wrong when any side does it. Its not that hard a concept.

I do believe the older I get the more moderate I become. I find it difficult to believe that everyone would rather play the blame game than actually see someone fix a problem... Does it matter who fixes the problem? Are we all satisfied with the arguing, the petty back stabbing, the bickering and even the ignoring of other view points going on in Congress?

That is where the next tidal wave, politically, is going to strike.

The bailouts were in many ways, the culmination of a slew of legislative and political fumbles. We can talk all day about who did what, but in terms of what caused this panic, the collapse of the housing industry certainly fueled it. You can trace that directly back to Democrats. It's a pissing contest for the most part, i,e, who can piss on the other most, when in fact, I wouldn't waste a good piss to put out either side if they were on fire.

Republicans are to blame. Democrats are to blame. The most blame however, lies on voters who simply want to push the idiot buttons labeled R and D that shoots said urine at each other. Every time I turn around some shitty little thing Obama does is defended by Bush did... and when Bush was in office, the same shit flowed the other way with the finger pointing going back to Clinton.

I am not a all-evils-flow-from-democrats man. But the constant bickering, the constant THEY did this or THEY did that is for lack of a better word, bullshit. We're sold on the model and that model is all we can seem to manage - we being the people, the citizens who actually vote, the only income generator in the whole fucking mess.

What's funny is the people who scream THEY loudest, can't even keep their they's consistent with their screaming. O59 decries republicans and bailouts in the same breath when most of the nay votes were in fact, republican.

As far as budgets go, I'm pretty damned happy with the Tea Party people stance. It's about friggin time someone in Washington had some backbone, enough to teach all the little control freaks and make-up wearers that it's not the same old game. Posture, threaten, dictate all you want, but the buck stops here because that's WHAT we were elected to do.

What he said.

So back to the thread.

Is it fair that Cain put the onus on the victims of the recession, the unemployed, for their plight?

They certainly didn`t have anything directly to do with it.

Why is this guy so cock-sure about bashing Americans who`re out of work?

These folks aren`t chosing not to work, lose their homes and go bankrupt. They would be working if there were jobs for them.

Does anyone have link to his original comments?

The only thing I've seen in this thread is the video to his defense of his original comments during the debate, in which it is apparent that he is saying that his comments were about Washington and voting, not about "being too lazy to work".

We must've seen different videos...
Here's a discussion of his interview...
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/10/05/cain-not-rich-no-job-blame-yourself/

And I think there's a video where he said that as well... Not a lot of depth to the statements really, but they clearly point fingers and then he retreats to a memory lane of his own childhood. Which I really hate out of politicians. The love leaving a vastly changed society and tell us about their childhood days. Fact is, if it were their childhood days still WE'D ALL be working as a nation.
It's like 'harkening back to before that fucking comet hit the Yucatan" ... Really look out the window and tell me how many dinosaurs you see [:D]
No offense, I actually kind of like Herman, but this TOTALLY pissed me off.
I can't for the fucking life of me blame my old colleagues at IBM for their jobs getting sent overseas to India in one goddamned day. And no sufficient number of jobs were created BY ANYONE.
And to tell them their to blame cause their whole life has been turned upside down when all they ever did was go in each day and provide the best technical support on earth, is simply beyond me.
And if anybody here  owns a Domino Server, or a blade, or a PC or any other smarter world shit, and you're frustrated. TOO FUCKING BAD. You wanted things cheaper, you got em. Sorry if they SUCK[:D]

give the little boy a break. At least he has stopped pretending to be a conservative. That's one step toward honest communication.

Funny you should speak since your the one with a Cartoon picture of a child. What is he your Idol?

Only because I outed him, from his own blog.  [:)]

FYI, his reasons for his antics here:

My favorite is using their own logic against them usually by being a hypocrite. ...But most of the time its not that straight forward. I like to use subtly when making my points which usually gets me attacked by both sides. Thats the fun part because I found it is those that are actually smart actually understand what I m doing. The other people instead lose their minds. The best part is egging them on to continue following their own logic or backpedaling on their argument.

This all stems from my favorite comment of last year, “You cant argue with stupid people they dont use any logic.” I have found it better to use these tactics than actually engage in debate because many people will dismiss facts or evidence that dont agree with their views or position. In many cases dismiss you and start resorting to personal attacks. But by using my tactics I have found most will never respond, the smart ones will laugh, other will go along with the belief, but the best is when they have conflicting beliefs and argue to back it up. You can see the wheels turning in their head trying to justify both beliefs. Many times they like to make special case scenarios to justify their beliefs, but usually dont think things through which just furthers on my egging.

I started my merge of politics and BDSM on collarme well because I read some of the political post and found a few people that it would be fun to use my tactics on. As George Carlin said “Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that half of them are stupider than that.” Which is why I am having so much fun. Most of the time its like giving some people rope to hang themselves.

There's more if you wanna wade through his crud.

He's a self-admitted troll, here simply here to stir shit up.

Hi ST

thanks- I too enjoy our exchanges. Like Firm, I find it enlightening to listen to what someone who has a rather different outlook than mine has to say, and like you, I must admit, there's a lot of bathos I tend to ignore here. You force me to think about stuff that I think I know but now needs to be justified to someone else- so that has me doing some digging to make sure that I actually know what I think I know. Sometimes I discover I don't. Furthermore, we seem to have careers/education in the sciences- at least tangentially.

The environmental issues around global warming drive me nuts. We should be able to agree on the facts of what's going on- and yet, Fox "News" persists in spreading untruths. Even if we can get people to agree that there is anthropogenic climate change, it doesn't mean that what should be done about it is obvious- there are lots of alternatives. Strikes me that's where the discussion needs to happen- and isn't.

You have no clue what the ad hominem fallacy is, do you?  [8D]

Anyone can look up and repost a definition.  But to actually recognize one, takes a little more skill.

I've derailed this thread and the forums enough with you.  If you wish to claim victory, feel free.  Perhaps you've heard the saying about winning an argument on the internet?
