You have no clue what the ad hominem fallacy is, do you?  [8D]

Anyone can look up and repost a definition.  But to actually recognize one, takes a little more skill.

I've derailed this thread and the forums enough with you.  If you wish to claim victory, feel free.  Perhaps you've heard the saying about winning an argument on the internet?

Really is that why your last comment you made by attacking me and posting my blog was deleted and the thread was locked? [Mod note - link removed as it leads to a post pulled by ModTwentyOne]

Herman Cain recently criticized the Occupy Wall Street protesters, saying, "Don't blame Wall Street. Don't blame the big banks. If you don't have a job and you're not rich, blame yourself."

The man is an idiot without peer in the way of National politics.

I dunno, Mark.

For too long we have had the mantra of "no one is at fault for their troubles", that maybe it's time we need a little reinforcement on the other side.

Certainly there are societal and other factors that cause people problems, that isn't their fault.  But it seems to me that the attitude now is - all too often - that others are required to underwrite the bad personal (ahm ehm .... and business) decisions and mistakes of others.

I think we need a better balance.  But first, we have to start the conversation.

its easy to blame 300 million rather than the problem..300 million vote one way..not happening, 300 illion people agree on something ..not happening
Blame the voters rather than the real problem
Trying to argue that he was even talking about voting badly and therefore anyone is to blame, is utter bullshit.
Whoever fed you all that line must be laughing all the way to the bank & part of the problem and in NO way a solution.

You'd argue that Cain's dismissal of the unemployed as worthless scum with nobody to blame but themselves who should shut up whining at productive citizens is starting said conversation rather than trying to stop it developing, then?

It was 130 million who decided for everyone, Lucy. 2008 saw the highest voter turnout.... but it was still only 63% of the voter population.

When I say voters are to blame.... I dont blame them for the mess politicians do once they are there. I blame them for the sheer fact that a huge majority vote politically, instead of intellectually.

Many dont listen to the issues, they listen to talking points. Many dont take the time to explore the candidates, they merely listen to the polls.

At this point, Cain is talking, then back stepping frantically. Can anyone honestly say he is any different than any other President we have had?

none of them are what I would call a good politician, altho, lol I think a lot of that has to do with the technology we use today, they get pulled up on their bullshit far easier than ever before, and its a collective knowledge.that screws with them, and they havent adapted yet, but they will.

Well if he was giving a pep talk; little tough lovin', nobody got off their ass.

If we had not have lost millions and millions of jobs, doubled our foreclosures every year starting in '06',if credit didn`t freeze,if there were actually jobs out there to be taken,....THEN you`d have a point.

Corporate America is enjoying record profits and is sitting on about three trillion dollars, but not hiring anyone. The rate is about flat/to a few jobs being created.

You can`t blame the average little guy for what your bankster buddies did to our economy and damm it,you can`t put the onus on them for lifting our economy up.

I appreciate a strong work ethic, the beleif that we must take care of ourselve`s and personal responsibility, but this is like chiding someone for not knowing how to swim after they end up in the water.

That`s not what a good leader does.

If there aren't enough jobs to go around, then the politicians who encouraged American forms to outsource are arguably a bit more culpable than the unemployed...

My question is this.... How long before those record profits run out because americans cant afford their products?

Lucylastic -> RE: Cain blames unemployed, audience laughs and cheers... (10/22/2011 12:18:34 PM)

Sooner rather than later if the repubs get their snouts in charge again

Lucylastic -> RE: Cain blames unemployed, audience laughs and cheers... (10/22/2011 12:24:07 PM)

Im guessing if some had lost their job since 2007 then they might be apt to get more than a little peeved at being blamed for being unemployed, [8|] or 8 million people must be in the wrong and to blame for their own problems, the bastards.[:'(]

This is what I do not understand...a strong middle class is,in fact, good for big business. The middle class is also a consumer class....how does business expect to turn a profilt without a vibrant middle class in this country?

Moonhead -> RE: Cain blames unemployed, audience laughs and cheers... (10/22/2011 12:32:37 PM)

It expects to export its shit into the economies it's built up with outsourced jobs, rather than expecting unemployed scum to buy the shit in America.
