I'm wondering..some of you doms/dommes refer to yourselves with a capitalized first letter.....but then others don't, it's just a matter preference I do know that, but do Y/you..(?) get offended if people refer to you without using the capitalized letter? E.g. I'm not used to capitalize first letter unless it's in a chatroom I visit sometimes since in there it is a rule, but otherwise I don't pay attention to it, 'cause it really doesn't make any sense to me, you're the same dominant (in my eyes) with or without the caps so I've been wondering if it really does offend you?

I think that if upon first "meeting" someone threw a hissy fit over it I would find someone else to chat with.

This one is never an easy call.  I've seen some Dom/mes  in chat rooms blow as gasket for not capping Their name.

Personally, I couldn't care less. It's nice if they do, but I am comfortable enough with Myself and know exactly who I am and what I stand for. As long as a sub is polite and well mannered in approaching Me that's all that really matters.

This is in no way intended to be Law of the Land..These are the views of  Isis only.

Peace and love,

Gotta go with MsMacomb..if a Dominant had a problem with it,and made it an issue, then I would lean toward thinking HNG..be well..Tempting

I've got to weigh in on the if they had a prob with it and made it an issue, then hey, have a nice life, may you get what's coming to you, bye bye now, end of it. I try to use proper grammar, etc. although generally I capitalize Dominant which is basically the only exception I make. What you're saying is more important than what you do or do not capitalize in the saying of it in my opinion. Just my 2 cents tossed in.

The only time I have ever had a problem is when folks who know my real first name don't capitalize the first letter.  That's just grammar.  Otherwise, capitalizing the You and such - gets to be annoying after a while.  Nice if you want to do it, and I won't get after you for doing it.  But I also won't get after you if you don't do it.  Besides, the Y/you crap in posts just makes it harder to read...

It's something I've done for years and is a matter of habbit (or was that a matter of hobbit?). generally I'd rather err on the side of over politness unless I want to iunsult someone or at least show my lack of GaS.

I completely agree. It doesn't take much to display your awareness and adherence to basic etiquette or manners.

I agree with Shinywrap. The whole capitalizing, non capitalizing, and specialty pronouns is what tends to throw me off because of how I was taught grammer.

I would ask the question back to the submissives. How do you feel about someone referring to you with your name capitalized?

For me, capitalizing the name is my first inclination, so I don't always catch it, and using capitalized You, Your, Y/you.....etc just drives me crazy, so I don't.

I agree with Iron Bear.  I will cap a Dominant's name, if however I am not sure of their title, I will do this for instance, I/isis...that covers your butt either way.

it comes to me like the 3rd person posts but they're just 999999999 times worse =X in my opinion I don't know maybe I'm just..too..simple and like to keep it simple..I mean..what's wrong with keeping things simple if you're simple n talk simple then simplicity is just so simple and blablabla...anywayz.. the conclusion (for me is) that.. I like it simple

I Have Decided, Because I Am So Dominant, To Cap Every Word I Speak/Type From Now On.

On a more semi-serious note, ever see anyone cap their own but go out of their way to type everyone else's name in lower case? Talk about somebody needing an enema.....

Ugh, I don't like that.  Can it be a Tobasco enema, please?

I agree.

With the trick I mentioned in the last post, most Dominants will let you know how to address them, or either watch how others address them. Not always failproof however.
