Sanity and Wilbur seem to lie just to prove a point. The Iraqi prime minister wanted US troops to stay as trainers on the US equipment bought by Iraq. the stumbling block, as Ron said, was the subject of immunity.

"We are heading toward securing trainers and experts for the American weapons we purchased, but without immunity and without going to parliament."

Anyone who needs to verify the quote can google it in ten seconds.

There we have it, straight from the horses mouth. Iraq has purchased American goods, thereby creating American manufacturing jobs. They also want to have American troops showing them how to use them, thereby employing American troops.

So, you are one from a nation other than America, anyone over your way see anyone in America embarrassed other than wilbur and sanity?

How about some other nations of the globe?

Cons would want our troops to face Iraq`s Sharia-based law system, wouldn`t they, knowing that eventually something would happen that would put our GI`s at risk.Fuck`n cowards!

Big brave neo-cons put them in harm`s way without proper equipment or armor for fucking years,so this isn`t surprising.

This is just more evidence of how cons would have continued fucking up and fucking our troops, if they were charge.

Lucylastic -> RE: LMAO. Oblama claims victory for diplomatic embarassment (10/22/2011 12:03:32 PM)

From the AP quote
For the first time in decades, Iraqis face a future on their own, with neither Saddam Hussein's iron fist nor the United States' military might to hold them together. This has been both their dream and nightmare: They wanted American troops (the occupiers) to go, but they wanted American troops (the protectors) to stay.

Now many fear an increase in violence, growing Iranian influence and political turmoil after President Barack Obama's definitive announcement that all U.S. forces will leave by the end of the year.

Hmmmmm yep another instance he has no clue what he is talking about
NOTHING to do with not wanting them, EVERYTHING to do with Not wanting their people to be charged...Arent the forces pretty strong about their own being tried under military law? and not civvy? Is it different anywhere in the world?
why would it be different in iraq? Werent the abu grahib bunch tried by military not civvy courts? WHy would the defense department of the US or anywhere want their people to be tried in an iraqi court?
another big fat zero from the same, who couldnt get his fact straight if his life depended on it.

His ludicrous idea of 3000-5000 trainers is shot down by Iraq so he claims credit for withdrawing all of the troops. As the shiites assume dominance and align themselves with Iran the area is now even more threatening to us than ever. Prediction: They will withhold any overt action until after Ramadan 2012. Then all hell breaks loose.

He took a lesson from Bill Clinton, claim credit for everything, responsibility for nothing.

So you`d have left them there, Pops?

Big brave guy, aren`t ya?

The veracity of that claim is being negotiated in diplomatic circles, and is causing quite an embarrassment, as well as his outing himself today finally that he is an intinerant insurance peddler.

Where did I miss that revelation?

When he was chastising himself for throwing his principles and morals to the wind and performing at the behest of his boss, the coding of a-v and red-black binary trees with fortran, to code a donor tracking db, (which could have been done on wordstar for fucks sake) and singlehandedly getting Obama elected, (Biden was his great shame), and sitting shiva on this pecadillo, his boss ran insurance actuarials, and this is in those times when he was running his own company, out of the world trade center and took the day (mirable dictu) off to play a round of golf (heh heh heh, or maybe it was vietnam all over again and ptsd).

Wilbur, Your sense of the ridiculous is obvious for all to see. Almost every article I have read by US commanders says the same as Hillwilliam.

Bush`s foray into iraq looking for WMD`s (unfound weapons of much distraction) led to the Taliban neing able to regroup and regain a foothold in Afghanistan. Now a question for you. If it was reversed, as you laughingly suggest, then wtf did Bush go after Bin Laden and not just drive straight to Baghdad ?

if you can be arsed to do a check, which you wont, most of those to the left of you posted all along that Bush was right to invade afghanistan and not Iraq, and here you are suggesting the opposite. It is no wonder your posts get ridiculed.

Every military analyst said that if bin Laden went to ground in the caves of Afghanistan there would be no way to extract him without tremendous loss of lives. It was a fucking waste of time from day one.

Then why didn't those military analysts tell this guy before he invaded Afghanistan?

USATODAY.com - Bush pledges to get bin Laden, dead or alive

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush pledged anew Friday that Osama bin Laden will be taken "dead or alive," no matter how long it takes, amid indications that the suspected terrorist may be bottled up in a rugged Afghan canyon. The president, in an Oval Office meeting with Thailand's prime minister, would not predict the timing of bin Laden's capture but said he doesn't care how the suspect is brought to justice. "I don't care, dead or alive — either way," Bush said. "It doesn't matter to me."

And while we are talking about it, how is that Obama managed to do, in his short time in office, what the tough-talking pretend cowboy could not accomplish in eight years?

mnottertail -> RE: LMAO. Oblama claims victory for diplomatic embarassment (10/22/2011 3:26:02 PM)

You really never do read the articles you post, you just scan the headlines and post it if it seems to support your position.

And then you end up looking like a jackass when it doesn't.

From your second link:

In the eyes of Iraqis, the Americans were both the cause of those woes and the bulwark against them exploding. Many blame the 2003 U.S.-led invasion for unleashing all the demons kept bottled up by Saddam's dictatorship, and allowing new ones - like al-Qaida - to slip in.

Would that be anything like you claiming credit for being an Independent while you continually bash every Democrat?

Conservative hypocrisy at its finest.
