Seems to me some people wont be happy whatever Obama does. First they said he wouldnt bring the troops home anytime soon, now that he has, they say he has failed to keep them there.
Is it me or is that two opposing stances ? Frankly the majority of us over here are glad your troops are coming home.
Prior to the Afghan war in 2001 some 20,000 demonstrated in London. A month later 100,000 turned out. Prior to the war in Iraq some 1,000,000 turned out, so you can see the strength of public feeling was vastly different between the two events. Blair was right to endorse Afghanistan and never lost any popularity over it, he lost that when he decided to go the Weapons of Mass Distraction route, which ultimately cost him his job ( The view here is his resignation was jumping ship )
