IME usually people with things like that in their ads are pro's, looking to attract clientele, since that so fits the stereotype of what a dominant is, the dominant/lowly worm kind of thing, etc.....and it doesn't bother me, when I see that, I realize what it is, advertising *shrug*. Not knocking professionals, they have a living to make and do so attracting clientele and all have their own ways of doing it. Yeah, there are dominants looking for 'real life' relationships who seem to act like that in real life, have met dominants who assumed as a sub I was less then them, whatever, and I laughed at them, that isn't who I am....there are female supremacist types who have no respect for male subs, there are male doms who think women should be slaves, and if someone is into that, well, that is their business, wouldn't catch me within a million feet of that type, not my style and quite frankly isn't me. Think of the stereotypes many in the vanilla world have about bd/sm, that dominants are abusive people who have been abused themselves, slaves and subs are people with no self esteem, feel they are worthless, you name it, the 'lowly worm' syndrome and so forth, and that is what these people are playing off of; for the professionals it probably attracts clients who hold those stereotypes who fantasize about it, for non pros it may attract people who think they may like that. I wouldn't find it offensive unless in real life someone like that tried pulling "I am an empress/emperor" crap with me and expect me to bow down, then I woudn't be insulted, I would get mad *lol*
