ORIGINAL: LafayetteLady Yes, it has been done to death, lol. However, it bugs the hell out of me. During instant messages or quick emails between face to face friends or text messages, I don't pay much attention to spelling. An email, however, is someone's first impression. If someone can't take the time to see that things are spelled correctly, it makes a bad first impression. I will admit, though, that as I've gotten older, I've gotten lazier and more forgetful. So sometimes when the spelling of the word I want to use just seems to allude me, rather than look it up, I will often just use a different term, lol. Sorry! I swear I couldn't find it lol but thanks for answering! I agree, with quick emails and instant messages it isn't as bad but if they have the time to sit and reply to something, I'd think they would take the extra time to be sure it's in good form. I'm almost positive this person really thinks he's spelling things correctly though which makes me question his intelligence. I also agree that if it takes too much effort into spell checking or they are in such a rush to reply that they'd probably be the same in a relationship...of course they might not be but it's not something I want to find out later and be disappointed because I didn't follow my initial "red flag".
