Missokyst -> Fetishes & male vs female (10/27/2011 9:09:42 AM)

I didn't want to hijack the blackmail thread but I do want to ask this. How many of you have noticed a distinct difference in the sexes being attracted to certain fetishes?
Like blackmail for instance. I have seen more males mention it than women.
And AB, more men there without question.
I am into rubber which tends to be more of a male thing in my experience, but I have met other women who enjoy it.
In addition I don't NEED rubber to be aroused. I like it, but it is not necessary.

What kinds of fetishes have you noticed tend to lean more toward one sex than the other?
slight change up here:
This is for both true fetishes, where one must have the other to be aroused. Compulsions, where one wants something in order to get a greater rush from the action. Or leanings, triggers that can intensify results. Mine is more of a leaning.

Related to blackmail - financial domination seems to be a male sub/fin Domme thing

DesFIP -> RE: Fetishes & male vs female (10/27/2011 9:17:41 AM)

Men have more true fetishes than women do. Meaning the fetish object must be there in order for the man to be aroused. Studies have shown this.

If you're talking about certain kinks which can be enjoyed but aren't necessary in order to become sexually excited, then yes, there does seem to be a gender line. Latex and AB  and feet are more commonly sought by males than females. But there is also the fact that more males are dominant than submissive, and more women are submissive than dominant. And this also colors things. You would need to talk to people who bottom only instead of engaging in power play to get a sense of where gender lines are in terms of bondage.

that's what i thought, too.
in the kink world, we kinda use "fetish" loosely, but a fetish is something you neeeeed in order to get aroused.
i love me some bondage, but i can get aroused without it.

I have noticed that men seem to have more fetishy needs than women. I considered it may be because males tend to be more visually oriented. I know the men I know who are into rubber like the look and feel. For me it is the scent. I could care less about the look or feel.

ditto!
I like rubber, I don't need rubber.

I've noticed that a lot of men's fantasies seem to revolve around finances and their cocks.

Women's seem to revolve around their mindset.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Fetishes & male vs female (10/27/2011 11:30:11 AM)

When it comes to "fetish" in its definition of "needed for arousal" men seem to have the corner on all of it. There are activities that absolutely turn me on, but they are not necessary, they are things that I enjoy more than other things.

Really, I wish men would get over the gay thing, and just play with each other sometimes, it would take a lot of pressure off the rest of us.

SoulAlloy -> RE: Fetishes & male vs female (10/27/2011 11:39:53 AM)

So what would you say are the fetishes/leanings that the women are more interested in?  I can think of a few for men, like giving boot and foot worship - I have met only one woman who confessed to liking the idea.

I'm struggling to think of one that the women enjoy that the men don't [>:]

xxblushesxx -> RE: Fetishes & male vs female (10/27/2011 11:42:51 AM)

I wouldn't have a business without men and their fetishes. In fact my company name is fetish connect.
Women? Not so much.
I've had one woman caller with a fetish in the time I've been doing this. She wanted me to laugh and laugh and say "oooh stinky..." over and over again while she was doing whatever it was she was doing. [:-]
Men on the other hand, all day every day. And they're just as specific and rigid with their fetishes as the woman mentioned above was. That's why it's so hard for them to get their fetishes met in real life. It's pretty easy for even a vanilla girl to satisfy a generic "boot fetish" or "boob fetish" (yes, it exists) but the men (or women) fantasize about this thing for so long, that it does become quite specific, and difficult for someone not versed in roleplay to satisfy.

Definitely. Wouldn't common sense tell you that those men who want their fetish satisfied with no regard to the woman, would be just as fine having it satisfied by another selfish wanker? Especially guys that are into "forced" bi - do they really need to find a woman to make them fuck a guy?

Hillwilliam -> RE: Fetishes & male vs female (10/27/2011 12:13:24 PM)

I'd say there are more women and men with a "Facial hair" fetish but that's just a guess. [8D]

LaTigresse -> RE: Fetishes & male vs female (10/27/2011 12:15:35 PM)

Funny.....I have an anti- facial hair fetish. [:D]

I laugh but it is true. I cannot stand the stuff.

And yes, I have to agree that there are considerably more men with fetishes than women. So much so that if I am contacted by a person, on the other side, with a fetish I assume it is a male, regardless of what they, or their profile, says. One profile in particular, absolutely obsessed with tickling and feet in stockings. Odd one, that.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Fetishes & male vs female (10/27/2011 12:18:29 PM)

I tolerate facial hair. Well, I don't mind looking at it.

Okay, I am not a fan. I admit it!! LA T MADE ME SAY IT!!

/nonconsensual interrogation play!/

Hillwilliam -> RE: Fetishes & male vs female (10/27/2011 12:18:47 PM)

Well, you won't catch me smoochin' on anyone with a beard either.[8D]
