Y'know, you could answer exactly the same question when explaining your propensity for telling us about the women you've fucked

1. People into BDSM tend to be more erudite, in that they can challenge the norms.  They're also more aware - I assume that there are loads of people who would be into BDSM if they knew it existed but don't.
2. Collarme is composed of BDSMers who have computers and know how to use them.  Juts having the financial means to have a computer and the literacy to use it, separates us from a lot of the population.

dude, seriously? Have you ever talked to a lot of people into bdsm? Most seem to barely be able to afford their bills but yet suggest they turn off their internet to save money is like a sacrilege to them lol.

How many do we see come on here complaining about finances? Even before the economy went downhill.

As for more being into bdsm if they knew about it...lol. Doubtful. There are  lots...most just have no  need to come online and talk about it or flaunt it or even give it a name. And challenging norms? Why do you need to? The last thing I'm trying to do is challenge norms because to me this IS norm.

If you knew me in real life as many here do, you would know how modest my posts actually are. As for "my" wpmen, if i had to put having a torrid love afair with BSB in car terms it would be more like arriving in a limousinepreceded by a poli e escrt.

so this sounds like "modest" means "the hot chicks i fuck-n-tell are actually even hotter," which still proves Awareness's point?

i don't know you in person, and i'm not intending to be argumentative, but still, he has a point. =p

On a somewhat related note, am I the only one who really and sincerely despises the word 'polymath?'
  Yes, you are.

Pretentious fucking git.

Is there something you'd like to share with the group, Awareness?

I know nothing about who anyone besides myself has fucked, but I'd be very upset to find out someone I fucked had such a lack of discretion that he had to go brag to everyone hoping it would make him look like a bigger man, and it would make no difference to me even if it was all good things he said. It would just tell me that he had so little respect for me that he was someone I'd never want to associate with again.

I think these boards, in general, attract intelligent people with wide ranging interests as well as those who are, for lack of a better phrase, bat-shit crazy.

At one of Thomas Edison’s Historical Museums I have visited a letter from one of his neighbors to her sister is on display, interestingly crazy Tom next door is mentioned three times, odd and unusual behaviors mentioned twice and a comment of he is a swear mouth capitalized.

Throughout my life I have found the crazy Tom’s, the nonconformist, the so-called anti-social rebels and rogues far more interesting then the boring conventionalists alleging themselves to be well educated politically correct free thinkers.

A few, yes.

But more often, it attracts people who think they are polymaths.

I'm well aware that I'm not capable enough to be a polymath. I am a bit of a dilettante, though.

No. I think BDSM attracts people who are into BDSM, no more, no less.

The fact that someone even asks this question is just ridiculous.

If you read the message boards or much of the mail I get, he would know better.

Damn.  At least you are honest. Wd.

I can't tell you the number of times that I've argued with dilettantes who think they are polymaths ...

Indeed. Anybody can pontificate about any subject, spewing their opinions all over the place. It doesn't mean they have any real knowledge about the subject beyond what they just scrambled over to Google or Wikipedia to copy and paste. Everybody thinks they're fuckin' genuises. Puhleeze

BDSM definitely attracts Polymaths, sure. Kinky Polymaths; it also attracts fuckwits a-plenty too. And not all of the fuckwits are actually kinky, some of them are just desperate.

Are intelligent people more likely to be kinky? Maybe...

Another question might be to ask whether the boards attract a smarter kinkster... (I'm not completely sure on this one, one way or the other)

Ahhhhh yeahhhhhh.

I've always thought I know a little about a lot of things. Usually just enough to get me into trouble and then just barely, back out of it.

My problem is that when I've learned something useful I tend to like to share it if I think it will help someone else.

I kind of think the boards do attract a smarter kinkster, I've been impressed time and time again by the people here. The complete idiots don't seem to outnumber the intelligent ones although they do seem to take up more bandwidth because they're fun to play with. In any case they give me plenty of conversation when I'm out with the man filling him in on recent foolishness amongst other things.
