"Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain, hit with a barrage of questions Monday about allegations of sexual harassment, also faced new questions about financial ties between his campaign and a private charity run by two of his top aides.
Citing internal financial documents, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that a Wisconsin tax-exempt charity called Prosperity USA footed the bill for about $40,000 worth of iPads, chartered airplanes and other expenses as Cain’s campaign got off the ground early this year.
Expenses totaling $37,372 are listed in the group’s financial records as “due from FOH,” or Friends of Herman Cain, the name of his campaign committee, the newspaper said. It is not clear whether Cain repaid the alleged debts, which are not listed in his personal or campaign disclosures.
Such payments are forbidden under federal tax and election laws, because nonprofit charities are not allowed to donate money or services to political campaigns, according to election law experts.
“It looks like a law school exam on potential campaign finance violations,” said Lawrence H. Norton of Womble Carlyle, a former general counsel at the Federal Election Commission. “Many of these payments would be prohibited contributions under federal election law.”". http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/campaigns/herman-cain-campaigns-financial-ties-to-wisconsin-charity-questioned/2011/10/31/gIQAJ61gZM_story.html

Cain must be worrying the 'old guard' Republicans if they're coming after him this hard.

Lucylastic -> RE: Have you ever been accused, sir, in your life of harassment by a woman? (11/1/2011 1:41:03 PM)

You`re the 1st to intro the scary black man idea here. And you`re sure its part of the whisper campaign at large.

Are you projecting or is there something that points to a scary black man meme, in Cain`s case?

We all know that "scary black man" themes were part of the conservative`s smear campaign against President Obama, officially and unofficially, whether the cons wanted to be honest about that or not.

We`re glad to see you`re one of the honest cons,Firm.

To be fair, most cons didn`t participate in the racist smear campaign agaisnt President Obama, but many did,way to many did.And far to many, were ok with it.

Now the republicans are turning into liberal racists, Bugger me sideways, where will the madness end?
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/11/santorum-adviser-tells-cain-to-be-forthcoming/
Herman Cain came under intense scrutiny after allegations of sexual harassment hit his campaign Sunday evening, but it didn’t seem he needed to worry too much about questions from GOP presidential rivals. That all changed Tuesday morning, when a longtime strategist of Rick Santorum called on Cain to give a more forthcoming explanation of the allegations.
“What I would encourage the Cain campaign to do is, if you are the front-runner and you plan to be the nominee, to be forthcoming so that you are vetted, and we don’t get into a situation where you’re our nominee and we find out things after the fact,” said Santorum adviser John Brabender, speaking at an election preview forum hosted by the National Journal, as reported by the Washington Post.
It’s been hands off since Sunday night, with none of the other campaigns responding to the Cain allegations, which were first reported by Politico. But Brabender’s comments could open the door for other campaigns to demand answers from Cain.

I knew, but missed the fact that as a black conservative, Dem supportive members of the establishment media would use the racist meme of a black man with white women to stir up racist sentiment, and then attempt to metaphysically "lynch" him.

I'm sorry, but the first places I saw this were Drudge and some local conservative's commentary section Saturday night. If you have some kind of proof this wasn't leaked by people inside the GOP who are now throwing this guy under the bus (as I predicted they would a month or more back), make it known.... But all indicators are that this is coming from within he party before 'mainstream media' got it's hands on it.

In US News, Mike Huckabee  had suspicions that this was an opponent:

"As the media digs deeper into the scandal, two more questions loom over Cain. Firstly, will his presidential campaign be able to weather the storm? Secondly, who is responsible for the leak in the first place? On Laura Ingraham's radio show Monday morning, former governor Mike Huckabee suggested that rival GOP campaigns were to blame."

There is clearly a lynching, but I think Cain doesn't even need to stray out of his own party.
And if the rest of the medial jumped on board after it leaked... well pull up a chair and tells what you want on your WEINER[:D]

Stern,

I've said twice already that the information likely came from one of the other Republican candidates.

But the technique was executed by the media, gleefully happy to do so.

I don't see this as a race thing at all. In fact, since the matter is a settled issue legally, my only concerns are Who within his own party is allowing this fucking he's getting (cause Firm, THIS is the kind of thing that Democrats would save for AFTER the convention.. they already view herman as beatable and would never throw away a hand like this before a single primary vote... Obama is already running against Romney). The other concern I would have with Cain himself is the same kind of pissed off feeling I had with Bill Clinton... having to peel layers and watching the guy get in trouble with various versions of the story till we arrive at the core... least he's getting it over quicker. He still hasn't come forward and said "Okay, this DID happen and here are the facts" And I honestly hope people forgive the guy.
And I hope it goes straight up the ass of the fucking pricks that sacrificed the guy on behalf of the Romney Campaign.

So what you`re saying is that Cain should be given a special pass on scrutiny, in a presidential campaign, because the media is reporting it?

Maybe the heart ache you feel about the lastest superstar`s crash is what`s making you think others are gleeful.Yes?

Can you give us a logical reason...no strike that,...can you give us ANY reason why anyone should not go through the usual vetting process when running for president?

Isn't that what the media is there for?

I always thought they were there to report news.

But I guess in your mind they are only to report things that you do not disapprove of.

You nailed it, Owner. Im a racist for pointing out Cain's glaring and stupid mistakes.... but no one is allowed to comment on Firm's "chosen" one.

I guess you never watched CNN when they eviscerated Weiner... It ain't a dem/republican thing here, it's a republican thing here. If the media is ENTIRELY like vultures, they haven't shown a party preference in a long time.
I hate to tell you this but as a liberal leaning American, I am furious at how Fox CNN and some other cable outlets have gone in their bids to steal viewers from fox. I even thought I was imagining this until I consulted a friend who works in market strategy for a media outlet. He predicted Erin Burnett becoming a "journalist" as a response to growing anger at big finance, so I know he's still on his game.
So, even if the 'liberal media' is now deep into the dance. The men in the sheets that did the dead and slipped away under cover of darkness were Herman's own party.
And really, I'm sorry since I know the guy may not be who I would finally end up voting for. But he's certainly not the spineless fuck Mitt Romney is.

Hey, DYB:

Would you: having Black in your handle (and I assume proud of it, if not at least ok with being black) consider that what transpired was:

use the racist meme of a black man with white women to stir up racist sentiment, and then attempt to metaphysically "lynch" him.

It's exactly like Thomas, in that respect.

I mean I know it can be some dirty infighting in that respect among black folk, but would you characterize Anita Hill as a cracker?

I know it might not be a totally PC question, but I think hyperbolic rhetoric is a driving force here, and not a sublime recapitulation of some pretty basic ins and outs of our American society and outlook, at large.

I am proud to be Black and to be an American

And just to sort this out. Clarence Thomas was a fat ass brotha that is balding. Anita Hill is a fyne looking woman. He was stretching just like any other man black, white, red, yellow or blue would do. We are human just like everyone else....we catagorize on looks just as much as anyone else. The story behind it coming out is racist to be sure and some republican did it....but the acts themselves are human. No color invovled. Make sense?

DYB, imagine if one week noone wanted to sue you, then,...the next week, you hit the lottery! Every woman who you gave a glance to would be lining up to take some of your winnings.
Poor and working class guys don't get sued for much of anything. That's because they don't have any money.
