There are a couple of things you can't do after getting such things done....

Run an MRI machine... having the piercing slowly pulled out by the magnetic field is not a good thing.

Wear a chainmail bikini... <think about it>

I will say that having had her pierce my outer labia, and on speaking with others who have had it done other places, and having done it on others, it is NOT a painless piercing -not even relatively. It is horrible, excruciating pain when the needle goes through (I yelled, "motherfuck" on both and I've had a lot pierced and in a car accident and other painful stuff... my two outer labia piercing were by far the most painful things that have ever happened to me). Afterwards it doesn't hurt at all for about 30 minutes and then it swells and is painful for around 2 weeks... lots of time with ice packs on the crotch.

Op,

There is a simple test you can do to see if your anatomy would support a VH. If you can fit a Q tip in the skin above the clitoris then a VH will work well for you. Seems to me that too often the case body peircers want to give the customer what they want - even though their anatomy won't support exactly what the customer desires. If you can not comfortably fit a Q tip in the space, then chances are it will be extremely uncomfortable. If you do not have the space - I would suggest a labial instead.

Thank you, that is useful to know.  I have an appointment for a piercing, but I will try this first.  No reason to spend the money, if I am going to end up taking out the jewelry because it is uncomfortable

PAINLESS piercing? In what alternate universe? My inner labia piercing was startling, to say the least. Much deep burning afterward. Outer labia are thick, that's a lot of flesh that's heavily vascularized. It goes away of course, but none of this is instant easy.

Let me add that having that qtip shoved up there? NOT A GOOD THING IN ANY WAY. AT ALL.

Couldn't one find a non-metal bar or ring to get around that?

My rings are gold and titanium...is titanium magnetic? ( I feel really dumb not just knowing the answer)

ETA: titanium is safe in an MRI, it is "paramagnetic", so does not react with the device, according to some dood on the internets.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanium
Nonmagnetic as pure titanium but if it is alloyed, the result might be. Best to test it.

I have no idea about the veracity of that statement but when you're researching it make sure you check about incidents of clitoral damage.  It is my understanding from what I have read that there is a risk with clitoral piercings of damaging the nerves making the clitoris lose its sensitivity.  That would be heartbreaking.
