ORIGINAL: slvemike4u I grew up there Hill, made a promise to myself that if I ever had children I would never, ever lay a hand on them in anger. When I take the long nap that will be the thing I am most proud of,breaking the cycle of violence...and raising one fine young man in the bargain. Household discipline is not necessarily 'domestic violence'. There is nothing wrong with physical discipline for a child who needs it. In fact, alot of crap going on in the country now comes from too many people growing up under a lack of household discipline. What is wrong is taking things too far. That is when household discipline turns into domestic violence. And this is where 'interpretation' in places like Texas differs from the rest of the country. Today, issues with domestic violence has all but stopped most forms of household discipline, and the resulting lack of discipline is breeding its own problems for society. We will come to regret that. Just compare the performance of students in China to students here. When it comes to the heavy hand of a parent vs. the heavy hand of our future Chinese overlords, which would you prefer?
