And a Texas family court judge.

http://www.cnn.com/2011/11/02/justice/texas-video-beating/?hpt=ju_c2

I`d like to beat him "into submission".

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 7:08:10 PM)

i just saw this via facebook -- he's a fucking nutjob.
and he presides over CHILD ABUSE CASES. that blows my mind.

he's currently under investigation, thank goodness.
he says "it wasn't as bad as it looks in the video" -- how do you know, fuckface??

geeeez louiiise........

tazzygirl -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 7:12:10 PM)

It just gets worse and worse.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 7:13:35 PM)

Been there when I was about 11-14.

slvemike4u -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 7:18:02 PM)

That is fucking disgusting,this man has no business sitting in judgement of others.It will be interesting to see what the state of Texas does with this after their "investigation" winds up.
Mommy certainly isn't going to win any "mother of the year" awards either.
Fucking bastards.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 7:21:17 PM)

the claim is that the mother was "manipulated" into participating through years of abuse against her.
i'm not sure what i think of that.

slvemike4u -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 7:24:28 PM)

I grew up there Hill,made a promise to myself that if I ever had children I would never,ever lay a hand on them in anger.
When I take the long nap that will be the thing I am most proud of,breaking the cycle of violence...and raising one fine young man in the bargain.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 7:25:36 PM)

I don't have any for that reason. I'm too powerful and capable and nasty to risk it.

slvemike4u -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 7:31:47 PM)

Hill,it was almost something I had to do.....just to prove I was a better man than him.
Of course in hindsight I was always a better man than he was......my son is proof of that.

She was an accessory.

That`s how I feel.

There seemed to be no satisfying him or her.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 7:42:05 PM)

that's my thought on it -- she's an active participant.
supposedly she left the marriage because of abuse but sheesh -- stand up for your kids!

and i do understand that there are things like stockholm syndrome, etc, that can effect the way a person responds to situations like this. but still............. i'm not sure that i feel that a person just deserves a pass.

slvemike4u -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 7:46:06 PM)

She doesn't ,not to my mind.I realize that might not be the prevailing view.....but my only sympathy is with the children I. These situations.Any woman worthy of being a mother protects her child....period.
Can't help it I'm biased on this.

Owner59 -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 7:50:05 PM)

My mom threatened to leave if dad didn`t get help and he did.

A prayer for everyone going through something like this now and some prayers for those who have suffered in the past.

.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 10:15:53 PM)

Abusive creep. The fact that he is a judge does not surprise me, though. Many of the judges I have been in contact with have less tha stellar personal histories.

SternSkipper -> RE: Monster....... (11/2/2011 11:15:05 PM)

That's just awful.

Well I wasn't really ever disciplined physically cept my Mom could bring a full grown man to the ground by his ear[:D]
  But I've NEVER had to discipline my kids physically and rarely had to in a logistic sense and EVERYBODY loves those two kids. Mike's right he solved a big one. My ex had issues with violence and I often wonder what what would have happened if I hadn't gotten the kids away from  the booze and all that negativity.
Nice work Mike.

Yes.

~Fast Reply~

I have seen a couple of things about this situation. And I read the thingy that the gal posted.

I will agree that abuse is bad.

I will also say that something is just not right about this case.

One other thing, just what did folks with ataxic cerebral palsy do before about the 1930's?

Household discipline is not necessarily 'domestic violence'.  There is nothing wrong with physical discipline for a child who needs it.  In fact, alot of crap going on in the country now comes from too many people growing up under a lack of household discipline.

What is wrong is taking things too far.  That is when household discipline turns into domestic violence.  And this is where 'interpretation' in places like Texas differs from the rest of the country.

Today, issues with domestic violence has all but stopped most forms of household discipline, and the resulting lack of discipline is breeding its own problems for society.  We will come to regret that.  Just compare the performance of students in China to students here.  When it comes to the heavy hand of a parent vs. the heavy hand of our future Chinese overlords, which would you prefer?
