Some people can become so fixated on something that they become tunnel visioned to all else. Kind of like a dog begging for a scrap of food from the table even though he/she knows they aren't allowed. That or they are just generically formatted emails, were just a few things are switched around(checking out your profile just enough to copy/paste a few key words) to make you think they read your profile. It is a take on game theory. The larger the pool you ask, even though you may get 999 No's, you should get atleast 1 yes. A similar strategy as used by Credit Card telemarketers. The problem they don't factor in is that websites such as this have a very limited user base. So it is like the tail end of a Sales campaign where your just calling the same old numbers over and over, and pissing the people off more and more.

Non profile reading is a red flag, their problem not mine. The way I wrote my profile doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to decipher. I purposely limit my "fetish lists". There are many fakes, "kinks" posing as slaves/subs seeking activities/scenes that if they took the couple minutes or read My profile it would be clear you are not close to qualified prey.

Certainly filters out some of the weaker ones :-) And has filtered in some strapping gems. In all honesty..."If" those seeking encounters of a particular type were up front there are plenty of Dominants, submissives, kinks, sissies, switches, etc., to fill all "needs". The process of locating would be much more streamlined.

The weird thing is I prefer to read the thing it gioves a better picture, if the subbies actually bothered to do this the boards wouldn't be filled with whiny little bitches continually griping about the scam artists. They aren't exactly difficult to spot.

i am confused by people who don't read profiles. personally, i really like to read them, too. there are a lot of profiles by dominant men that are a few lines about "job = no pics. be skinny and real." so maybe it's not just sub men, but a difference in male/female psychology. a lot of women have long profiles, and journals too. a lot of men have short ones. maybe if profiles are so long, they zone out. =p i've pondered shortening mine.

Not to try to go "off topic" from the OP. I do realize that many who seek at this site or any "vanilla" social site to many "it's just the internet" they would NEVER do in real life what they do "here". Whether its the out right BS, shenanigans or even (sorry to say) D/s activity. Filtering out the crap is a PIA...goes with the territory. I am up front, I can only be responsible for Myself and those I Own.

Well going of topic completely I use a rugby forum, me being a total rugby geek, now in r/l rugby clubhouses are fairly rough places if you are a twat, so the house rules in the forum, which is effectively a global clubhouse is don't say owt that would get you the biff in a real one. It works well in the main.

Since I took off any pictures of myself, the level of junk mail plummeted. I had one guy razz me about having a pic of aflower, but my response--that being in the yellow pages, with my face on marketing stuff, it seemed wise to go blank--seemed acceptable. I just let it roll off me. I have met far too many realtime friends here to care about random wankers! A question for the menz: do you get spammed by money gals? Or just the endless parade of them on your feed? I am one of those silly women who writes to people. If their pic is really nice, if their journal made me laugh, or think, I drop them a line. Most of them respond well. Some view my profile and I can almost hear the WTF? Whatever! Spam takes many forms, I guess!

One guy DID send me $15 once! The coda to a peculiar series of cmails, where no one's logic prevailed... wheeee! That was a hoot, he went on and on about how women deserved to be paid, so finally I just sent him my paypal addy. EPIC LULZ!! I dunno, a couple of the gals I wrote to said that they actually get stuff...and hey, hats off to em for continuing a long tradition of fleecing marks, but Not For Me. I loves me some pressies, but I really would rather they did the charities.
