Status: offline 		I thank we can assume that the incident would not have happened if the Occupy DC was not blocking the exits. I personally don't believe anyone pushed her... I think in trying to get through the ODC's blocking the exits she fell.

I'll agree 100% they should have had a lane for people to walk thru preferrably with little road barricades.. If nothing else, it's a fire hazard. IF it was staged, (I know, the paranoid side talking) that would have made it a lot less believable.

What I find disgusting and contemptible is the fact the so many continued with their inane little chant rather than show any concern at all. That and the douche bag (who either did push her or bumped into her or... possibly... was falsely believed to have done so) and who tried to blame it on the people trying to help her. Even if he wasn't responsible in any way, he is a contemptible douche bag of the highest order. No fucking compassion at all! This is why I hate mobs and protests and rallies or whatever the fuck you want to call such shit. Tea Party, OWS, it makes no difference... you are all just a bunch of whinny, self absorbed assholes giving yourselves a cheap ego stroke under the pretence of "protest." Fuck all of you! Have you people no God damned decency at all?

And the same goes for all of you here on CM who want to spin this into some sort of conspiracy of the (shudder) "other" side! What the fuck? Don't you realize that this is a human being in pain?

My prayers and best wishes go out to that woman and to all who hold her dear.

If she fell on her own trying to get through the line of protesters then who is to blame?... I would say all who participated by blocking the exit from the building... Those type of tactics are unnecessary... If they had protested with signs and song it would have had a positive impact... but now it is fodder for conservatives and it should be... It was wrong and dangerous.

Did she trip? (and over whom) Was she pushed (if so by whom). There must be a butt load of witnesses so it might just shake out quickly.
Part of my comment is in respect to the FOX style of reporting. All we know is that a woman ended up on the ground. Fox immediately says "OWS goons push old woman down stairs".

Is that responsible journalism or propaganda?
I expect that kind of headlines from the National Enquirer or Weekly World News. I don't expect or respect it when it comes from someone who has aspirations of being mainstream. (as opposed to lunatic fringe)

Status: offline 		I can't say I believe everything Fox reports... they have been caught in too many ...."Mistakes"... to always take seriously.

I think we may never know what happened exactly... there was so much jostling around and things like this happen so quickly. I would be suspicious of anyone from either side that says they know exactly what happened… The woman didn’t even know.

Now to me the blame lies as I stated above… the way the protest was executed. I don’t believe anyone from the ODC pushed her on purpose. I don’t even blame them for continuing to chant… hell they could not see what was going on.. No it was an accident but still caused by the protesters and they should take responsibility for it….Unless of course other information surfaces.

Oh, I doubt it was staged... But given the proximity (unless there was a clearing of the crowd we don't see on the video, it DOES LOOK like there were physical barriers between her and the crowd... and who was that guy standing around cussing everybody? Was that her son?
    If she got shoved, I think that's pretty bad but here's the deal.. every other even hairline incident has made this rounds and the most I can find is conservative blogs and the re0use of this fox video in a few places.
   I'll look some more and see if anything turns up. And if it really IS a pushing incident, I'll get in DC's faces myself.

I don't think it's right if the protesters pushed her at all.
And I would like to know if shit like that is happening in the Movement and Demand in the GAs that they get a fucking policy about that fast.
We have a policy in occupy boston that arrose out of a day (which I don't think the cops or press picked up on at all.. But Marchers noticed) whereby some handicapped people were on a marching route at a certain time. And because their handicap is developmental, they were getting scared by the daily marches. It was brought up at the GA and despite it takes a MAJOR bank target out of the crosshairs at rush hour... Our daily 5 pmer doesn't pass the area and there's consequently no mentally disabled adults in what I would imagine might be terrible fear.
   Solutions can be arrived at without cancelling a whole movement... otherwise... shouldn't conservatism have been ended somewhere around the KOREAN WAR?
