FR - I never said both sides aren't susceptible to lobbyists. What I am implying in my post is that Abramoff stands as the worst of the worst. And ANY SELF-RESPECTING REPUBLICAN should be insulted by his behavior. In fact I have several friends who are life-long republicans that WERE. So spare me the pablum and show us your examples. I think it's important to see what's happening on both sides of the fence.

What kind of examples do you want, Stern?

You know ... an important issue to me is that people such as you (who I respect), are still using the partisan divide to frame what is wrong. The problem is crony capitalism, and pointing an accusing finger at one party or the other just subtracts from arriving at a better solution.

Any party in power, which has the power to do this, will do this. Period. Full Stop.

Really? I write scripts for Leslie Stahl?

Not hardly. I am introducing this with very limited commentary. Gee sorry, I used a phrase Dubyah used to describe Abramoff at a 2003 fund raiser dinner for Linc Chaffee held in RI. Linc and I have known each other since childhood.
But it is what it is. And yeah, I find ALL of this conduct particularly upsetting. ESPECIALLY Abramoff's. maybe paint with a narrower brush my friend.
