Firstly, it'd be a shame that a young man was so cloistered that he couldn't cope with someone quietly breastfeeding. I'd consider that a failing on whoever raised him. What on earth would he do if someone threw up? What if, what if, what if?

Well,  everyone throws up at one time or another. Not everyone whips out a tit in a public place. You don't know what his upbringing was. He looked about 18 and like he'd never seen a tit before at all, let alone with a kid attached to it. The point is -- why subject someone with potentially different sensibilities to that at all?

OMFG the shock of it all!

Well what if looking at you is shocking to me, I think you should be kept at home and out of my sight to portect my sensibilities!

Because it's just one more example of a group of people that expect the world to bend around them and their kid.
They're no different than the mom who takes and then lets her kid scream in a movie theater. It all starts with breast feeding. If they don't have the decorum to not do that in public, anything is fair game. And when anything to them is fair game, I can't go to the movies or out to eat without dealing with other people's screaming children.

yeh its called fucking rights.

Not legislated asswipe demobcracy bullshit "privileges", RIGHTS.

She has the right to feed her baby any damn way she wants to and you have no fucking right to violate her right to do so.  PERIOD!

So you have nothing real to add, you just want to add sarcasm and a half-assed attempt at an insult. Nice. Expected though. Try to be more original please.

It is too bad this were not made into a poll.

It is my opinion, (late in the proceedings lol) that she was nursing a child. It is generally quiet and discrete and keeps young children quiet. I think these mothers should nurse their youngsters at the theater more. Im just not sure what to do about the tall adults who sit in front of me so that i can no longer see. THAT is not appropriate and i think they should leave.

So, let me get this straight. The idea here is that a bird giving suck to her brat is an insult to the magistrate and all right?

Gor! If your Yank judges get upset at that, then they don't want to be handling things around here. And of course the courthouse is crawling with the worst of the worst, I mean every time you cross the law, they tell you to go to the courthouse now don't they? It's like a bleeding reprobates convention there, I mean if you wake up on Sunday and find you've lost one of your mates that your Mum don't approve of, well you know where to find him come Monday morning now don't you?

nice!

America is a one shoe fits all commercial society, bought and paid for no matter what rah rah bullshit may be said.

Judges were never meant to rule this country but they do.  One giant fucking RICO here man.   The place would have been better named "Thugs R U.S."

dont take my word for it

"And I have the RIGHT not to be subjected to it. Not a "privilege" a RIGHT. "

Sorry but WRONG. It's what the court decides, for it's venue.

However I will agree with your position, I guess our position is that she should have went somewhere, who knows a closet or something. No fucking cooth at all really, and if I were her olman I would be pissed.

The whole thing is OK, some people don't see it that way but the court told her to get out doing that and what ? Her feelings are hurt so now it's a federal case ?

Shoot the bitch.

"She has the right to feed her baby any damn way she wants to and you have no fucking right to violate her right to do so. PERIOD! "

Nope. People do not have the right to eat at any time they choose. When you are in a business meeting, which is what a court hearing or trial really is you don't fuck around. These asshole bitches bring thier kids into court as a fuckig shield to not get thrown in jail. Sometimes the court will arrest the cunt, but it is a big pain in the ass and the cunt know it. (cunt is it's own plural like fish)

You are allowed to take a piss or shit, but not in court, not at the grocery store or the mall. Since a Woman's breast is viewed as a sex object or organ, you can't have it in public like that. OK there are nude statues down at the museum, but you are not REQUIRED to walk in there and when you do, you know what to expect.

Euhm... no... you don't have that right.
That was established when it was officially made legal for a woman to breastfeed in public.

The fact it's legal makes it her right to do so.
And it also makes that if she CHOOSES not to subject you to it, she is doing you a favor.

Termyn8or -> RE: Breastfeeding In Court? (11/16/2011 9:38:53 PM)

Fine Ish, but are you so sure that applies to when you are in court ?

It's also legal to wear a hat.

Prove it.

Termyn8or -> RE: Breastfeeding In Court? (11/16/2011 10:43:52 PM)

The judge or other arbiter will order it so that all may give their opinions if asked, even if they personally objects. Just as witnesses sometimes are not totally identified, for the greater good the court has a wide latitude whether it is protecting the identity of an undecover cop or securing the tesimony of a battered as well as cowed Woman. Sometimes the defendant is removed for certain testimony because his presence itself would be an intimidating factor.

The goal of a fair trial trumps everyone's rights in the courtroom when it comes to anything physical. If a diabetic started feeling the low glucose thing and had to eat something with sugar/carbs within seconds or faint, a few seconds for that could be excused, but if it takes longer, go out in the hall and we will finish your case a bit later. You are unable to participate.

As an example my sinister works at the main office of a pretty good sized company. If she could breastfeed in court she could certainly breastfeed there. Ain't happenin', and really it's not that big an issue. Broads getting thrown out of places for breastfeeding has happened before.

Actually noone under the age of maturity shiould be in a courtroom anyway. If I am on trial for my life, I don't need my and my witnesses testimony drowned out by some bitch's kid screaming. You do not take kids to court. Some cunt do that to try to stay out of jail and I happen to know that the system is getting sick of it, and soon will have baby care centers. This "we can't arrest her because she has that kid" days are over soon.

I have a post on page one of this tread stating that I don't think a courtroom is the most appropriate place to breastfeed.
I breastfed for close to 11 months and I would have stepped outside in such a situation.

I wasn't implying in my latest post that she has the right to do in a courtroom, what rights people have in a courtroom mostly depends on the judge in question.
My only remark was that DarqueMirror does NOT have the right to not be subjected to a perfectly legal activity.

HeatherMcLeather -> RE: Breastfeeding In Court? (11/16/2011 10:51:07 PM)

What does any of that have to do with having a right not to be subjected to somebody breastfeeding in court, congressional hearings and on TV?

Termyn8or -> RE: Breastfeeding In Court? (11/16/2011 10:52:14 PM)

"My only remark was that DarqueMirror does NOT have the right to not be subjected to a perfectly legal activity. "

That's the crux of it. In a court you have to be there, and that is the basis for all contention eally. If you walked up to a pizza shop and they had a sign saying "no breastfeeding" anf you happened to be breastfeeding at the time, don't go in there.

To me, what changes the whole thing is that in court, you are required to be there. I do not mean by the authority of state or anything, tis applies in all cases. You have the right to state you case in any kind of court. Certain factors can screw that all up, which can result in the hecklersd being cleared, and other things.

Think of it this way, the right to speak out in your own defense means nothing if you don't have the right to quiet.

He made a general blanc statement applying to all situations. It's that statement I responded to.
Whether or not he'll have to suffer being subjected to it in court is up to the judge.
Personally, I wouldn't breastfeed in a courtroom, but whether or not it's going to be allowed is up to the judge.

HeatherMcLeather -> RE: Breastfeeding In Court? (11/16/2011 10:55:50 PM)

So, you're making things up then?

Termyn8or -> RE: Breastfeeding In Court? (11/16/2011 10:56:49 PM)

FR

I don't know what to tell you people at this point, but consider this :

You have to take your fucking hat off in court.

Now get back to me after you have assimilated that.

T^T

HeatherMcLeather -> RE: Breastfeeding In Court? (11/16/2011 11:23:07 PM)

But you don't have a right to not be subjected to a person breastfeeding, do you?

Termyn8or -> RE: Breastfeeding In Court? (11/16/2011 11:37:08 PM)

A court should afford you that if it offends you. The higher ground here is to provide a fair and impartial trial or hearing. As such no witness of any kind should be under duress.

If you boil all this bullshit down, it's the same reason you can't smoke in court.
