The point is that around here, people can openly talk about being a Pagan, Agnostic, or Atheist, and that's fine. Mention you are Christian and you will be called mentally ill, stupid and any other number of offensive things. Mind you I didn't say "preaching your Christian beliefs," just mentioning what you belief. Not everyone does it, but more than enough. I haven't noticed this from anyone other than Hannah. I have. Granted, Hannah and her cult tend to be more along the "mentally ill" comments, but there are quite a few others that regularly state it is a lack of intelligence and knowledge. There are several Christians here, lots of them "old timers" like me and not once has one of them ever "preached" our beliefs to others and beyond mentioning that we are Christian, never try to demean those who aren't. And it is specifically Christian beliefs, and specified as such. But there are many others that while they don't share the same beliefs, don't feel a need to demean others. NiceButMeanGirl (honey, if you don't stop changing your name, I'm just going to use your given one! Love ya though, sweets, lol.) is one, as is lizi. NBMG and I have chatted for a few years now. We obviously have different beliefs but I don't demean hers, she doesn't demean mine. I think it is the constant (false) presentation that Christians are running around trying to convert everyone. With the OP, he is using religion because it is something his partner feels strongly against. Now as one of those Christian people that one would think is trying to help everyone find Jesus, I find that behavior appalling. Of course, I also find it ridiculous that he thinks in his little 23 year old mind that making her wear a cross is "humiliating," but it also says quite a bit about him and HIS prejudices and ignorances.
