Jack Nicholson was in The Shining. The Green Mile was a series of small books, I think there were six of them. The Stand and It were a couple of my favorites. Gerald's game is about bondage. Only ok. Insomnia didn't get really good until around page 400, lol. I had borrowed "Carrie" from my local library. It was King's first book. I read it years ago, like in high school, but I go on kicks with some books that I like to re-read them. It was a first print edition, and it was hysterical to read the "about the author" page. He was still working as a teacher, lol. A lot of King's books take a while to get going (but then they are lately 900 pages as you said this one is), but once they get going, then they really get going. Personally, I loved the Dark Tower series and I don't like sci fi stuff at all, but I would recommend it. The Dark Half and Dolores Claiborne are really good as well. Holy Shit! I was just looking at his bibliography and there is a new Dark Tower book! Now I have to re-read the whole damn series since it was supposedly finished in 2004 and I certainly can't remember that long ago. Did I mention I'm a fan of his books?
