Has nothing to do with profiles and everything to do with behavior.

I see. So who decides what behavior is acceptable and what is not? The Doms who think 'on your knees slut' is a perfect opening line can use it on one woman and she'll love it, use it on another woman and she'll report him for abuse. You are being incredibly obtuse if you don't see how this rating system can be abused. It's not that people here want to be stuck with something  that is mediocre and frustrating, there really isn't a way to implement something that is fair. You're certainly old enough to understand that not everyone out there has your best interest at heart.

So random Dom writes and says come suck my cock, you say hell no. He rates you negatively because you are a fake, you didn't do what he wanted. Random lesbian says meet me tomorrow, you say no, I'm straight. She reports you as being rude. Random woman into poly says come meet my Dom and we'll have a threesome, hopefully you'll fall in love with us and move in next week. You say no, I'm monogamous. They rate you poorly because everyone knows if you're on a kink site you should be open to doing anything. And on, and on, and on. Do you really not understand how full of fail the rating idea is?

It's come up here a bazillion times and it it never gets anywhere because it won't work. People don't  have blanket definitions across the board of what constitutes what, people are vindictive assholes at times, and people get frustrated at being told no and retaliate. Sure the site is full of people complaining, that's the nature of things because it's not a one size fit all place. Nothing is.

"samboct

Wow -- simply wow. You are kidding, right? ITS THE INTERNET. You do realize that yes? If anyone is wallowing in shame or has allowed themselves gto be tormented because of a conversation on the interent -- then they really DO need to get off the internet. Perhaps these people are taking what happens on the internet way to seriously. Hell simply a trip into many of the threads on this site is a lesson on gaining thicker skin, or if you really want flaying try P&R forums. profiles are no different than this message board in terms of allowing shit to mess with your head."

An internet virtual community is nevertheless, still a community. Suggesting that there are no rules by its dispersed nature merely invites it to be used a virtual fecal dump. Some of us try to play by the rule that we wouldn't say or do anything on the internet that we wouldn't do in person. Clearly, not all agree with this mode of behavior, but I suspect that if more people did, this site would be more pleasant. I for one, see no reason to act in a different fashion here than I do in person.

Cheers,

Sam

who said anything about black listing? Its about rating/reviewing character. Holding people accountable to who they are and what they are presenting on this site.

Does Amazon, Ebay or Google black list because of their rating system?

So does that go for the men pretending to be women, and the scammers, and the married guys pretending to be single, and the women trying to get money out of men, and all that? You're going to try to hold someone accountable to who they are and what they are presenting? They'll just say yeah sure, this is who I am. If someone finds out differently that MissVixen is actually a guy living in his Mom's basement and rates him poorly, that would be great, and then MissVixen is suddenly GoddessVixen and doing the same thing. Nothing changes, people WILL get their needs met.

You're trusting people an awful lot if you think only the ones who deserve it will get the poor ratings. MissVixen might bite the dust but so might Trinity731 if she turns someone down, or doesn't fit someone's view/fantasy.  You have never turned someone down on here nicely and then had them come back at you with some kind of retaliative nonsense? How would someone like that rating you in a rating system?

You're looking for a long term relationship according to your profile, would you then rate others who were looking for a one night stand poorly? If not, can you imagine that someone else might? They might say it's 'fake' if it's not their own personal view of things and anyone looking for casual sex has to have poor character- bingo, bad rating.

Honestly, how can you be so naive as to think something like this would work without a hitch? You put a lot of stock in character which is obvious, and naively you think others do too. There are too many to count on here that could give a flying fuck about character as long as they get laid. I'm not backing a system that gives those morons any input into my life at all, period.

I just emailed CM support and asked them to create a review/rating system for profiles similar to Amazon, Ebay and Google. This will help eliminate fakes, posers, assholes, etc and hold people accountable to their character. If you feel inclined email them requesting this feature.

What will happen is people that cannot get the attention of someone will get hit with negative ratings. Really bad idea on a site like this.

I am not giving free blow jobs to up my ratings! [;)]

There are no transactions taking place that can be electronically followed to assure any proof of what a buyer might report. Different types of sites... different set up required. However, I do believe you need to be an adult on both types of sites... I recommend becoming one and handling your own affairs.

Ohhhhhh Nooooooooo

I was doing searches looking for things funny.

I never thought about looking at the dates. My bad.

VideoAdminTheta -> RE: Review/rating system for profiles (10/15/2012 9:55:17 AM)

LillyBoPeep is correct. If you wish to comment on a thread that is over three months old, create a new thread and you may link back to the old one.

This thread will now be locked.

Thank you
